John 20:22 shows Jesus imparting the Holy Spirit to His disciples, not as a prize to earn, but as a gracious gift. A. B. Simpson highlights the simplicity of receiving. He encourages us to live open to the Spirit’s present ministry, not clinging to yesterday’s experience, but welcoming His life now.

I am grateful for Simpson’s reminder. The Spirit is not distant. For those in Christ, He already indwells, and His fullness is not scarce. The Father has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in Jesus. Receiving is not about chasing a feeling. It is about trusting the Lord who lives within and yielding the moments of the day to Him.

This posture guards us from discouragement. When we treat the Christian life like a refill we must qualify for, the soul grows anxious. When we remember that union with Jesus is a settled gift, the heart rests. From that rest, we gladly present ourselves to God, confident that the Holy Spirit supplies what is needed for love, obedience, and witness.

So the call is gentle and practical. Welcome the Spirit’s present work. Not by trying to get more, but by trusting the One you already have. Open your day to Him and expect His life to be expressed in real conversations, real decisions, and real interruptions.

Journal Entry – Voice of the Holy Spirit Through Scripture
I dwell in you because the Lord has given Me to you. I abide with you forever. Your body is a temple, and you are not your own, for you were bought with a price. You are in Christ, and Christ is in you. If anyone does not have Me, that one does not belong to Him, but you are not in the flesh, you are in the Spirit, since I live in you.

Be filled as you yield. Present yourself to God. Set your mind on things above where Jesus is. Walk by Me, and you will not fulfill the cravings of the flesh. I work in you to will and to do the Father’s good pleasure. The love of God is poured into your heart. My power comes upon you for witness. I supply what is needed for every good work the Lord assigns today.

You lack no spiritual blessing in Jesus. In Him you are complete. I renew your mind, transform your character, and conform you to the image of the Son as you behold His glory. Fix your eyes on Jesus. Remain in Him. I will bear fruit through you that endures.

Real-Life Analogy
Think of pairing wireless earbuds with your phone. Once they are paired, you do not rebuild the connection each day. You simply open the case and the phone recognizes them. In the same way, the indwelling Spirit does not come and go. He is present. As you open your moment to Him, He expresses the life of Jesus through you with clarity and steadiness.

Try this today. Before you start a meeting or answer a message, pause and acknowledge His nearness. Say, Lord, I trust You to express Your life through me in this moment. Then respond with a calm tone, honest words, and patient attention, expecting the Spirit to supply what is fitting.

Prayer of Confidence
Father, thank You for giving the Holy Spirit. Thank You that in Jesus I have every spiritual blessing, that Your Spirit lives in me, and that I am complete in Him. I gladly present this day to You. I receive Your peace for my mind, Your love for my relationships, and Your wisdom for my choices. Lord, I trust You to live Your life in me and through me in this moment. I walk forward resting in what You have already provided.
