Standing Where Jesus Stands

Galatians 5:1 calls me to stand fast in the freedom that Jesus gives. Miles Stanford reminds me that the Father relates to me on grace ground, not performance ground. I do not stand before God because I finally became fit. I stand because I am placed in the Son. My footing is not my record. My footing is Jesus.

This shifts everything. Righteousness is not a wage I earn. It is a Person in whom I am located. The Father sees me in His Beloved. In this grace in which I stand, there is security and welcome. I am not trying to claw my way into favor. I am living from favor that has already been given in Christ.

Position and walk are connected, yet they are not the same. My position is settled in the risen Lord. My daily walk flows from that. When I forget this, I either strive or slump. When I remember it, gratitude rises and the Spirit expresses the life of Jesus in ordinary moments.

So today I receive the gift of my standing. Jesus is my righteousness. The Father is for me. Conflict may come, yet the ground beneath my feet does not shift. I am in the Son, and from that safe place I can love, serve, and rest.

Journal Entry – Voice of the Holy Spirit Through Scripture
I steady your heart on grace ground. You have peace with God through the Lord Jesus, and you stand in this grace. I remind you that there is no condemnation in the Son. You are the righteousness of God in Him. As He is, so are you in this world, because you are in Him. I joined you to the Lord in spirit. I seated you with Christ in the heavenly places. Your life is hidden with Him in God.

I teach you to rest in your standing and to walk from it. Put on the new self, created after the likeness of God in true righteousness and holiness. Reckon yourself dead to sin and alive to God in Christ Jesus. Walk by Me, and you will not carry out the desire of the flesh. Abide in the Vine, and you will bear much fruit. Not by anxious labor, but by union with the Living One.

I assure you that the Father is for you. Draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith. Be found in Jesus, not with a righteousness of your own, but that which comes through faith in Him. Stand firm in freedom. Let the word of the Lord dwell in you richly. I am faithful to complete the good work that I began in you.

Real-Life Analogy
At the airport, the boarding pass is what gets you on the plane. The gate agent is not studying your step count for the week or your carry-on packing skills. The scanner reads your code, the system recognizes your status, and the door opens. In the same way, the Father welcomes you because you are in Jesus. Your standing is in Him, and the Spirit guides your steps once you are on board.

Try this today. When you face a task that tempts you to prove yourself, pause and remember where you stand. Say, Lord, I trust You to live Your life in me and through me in this moment. Then proceed with a calm heart, letting the Holy Spirit express the character of Jesus through your tone, your choices, and your words.

Prayer of Confidence
Father, thank You that I stand in grace. Thank You that Jesus is my righteousness, my access, and my peace. I receive my day from this secure position in Your Son. I present myself to You, and I welcome the Spirit’s leading in each conversation and decision. Lord, I trust You to live Your life in me and through me in this moment.
