With Unveiled Face

Scripture: 2 Corinthians 3:18

As I settle down to memorize 2 Corinthians 3:18, I am finding the verse to be incredibly rich with beauty and life application. In this verse, Paul contrasts the old covenant’s fading glory with the surpassing and permanent glory of the new covenant, which is revealed through the Spirit. Under the old covenant, Moses veiled his face because the Israelites could not bear to look upon God’s fading glory. But under the new covenant, believers—because of their union with Christ—behold the Lord’s glory with unveiled faces. This beholding is not merely visual; it is relational and spiritual. As we behold Christ through the Spirit, we are being transformed into His image, not by human striving but by the indwelling power of God. This transformation happens progressively, “from one degree of glory to another,” as we walk in the freedom and life of the Spirit.

Journal Entry in the Voice of the Holy Spirit through Scripture:
Child, the veil is gone—not because you earned your way behind it, but because My Son removed it by His blood. You no longer need to come trembling like Israel at Sinai. You come as one seated with Me in heavenly places, already accepted, already clean. I do not ask you to veil your heart with shame or self-effort. I ask you to look—look to Christ within.

Beholding Me is not reserved for the spiritually elite. It is your daily inheritance; your birthright in Christ. Every moment you rest in My indwelling presence, you are beholding Me. Every time you trust Me to live through you, you reflect My glory. You are not trying to become like Christ; you are letting Christ be seen through your yielded life.

As you gaze, not outwardly but inwardly, you are changed. Not through discipline or resolve, but through dependence. You are changed by exposure to My life, not by self-improvement. This is the miracle of grace. This is the glory that does not fade.

Stop glancing in the mirror of your performance. Look into the face of My Son—and know this: I have unveiled your heart so that you may see Me, know Me, and display Me to the world.

Prayer:
Father, thank You that the veil has been removed. I no longer approach You as one who is distant or unworthy, but as one who is joined to Your Son. I trust You to live Your life through me in this moment. Let Your Spirit continue to reveal the face of Christ within me, not through effort or emotion, but through quiet trust. Thank You that I am being transformed by beholding—not by becoming something I am not, but by resting in the truth of who I already am in Him. With unveiled face, I gaze upon Your glory, and I rejoice.
