Where Light Reveals Beauty
Like a prism reveals hidden beauty in light, we display Christ’s radiance when we rest in His presence.

Job 38:19 asks a question only God could answer: “Where is the way to the home of light?” It's as if the Lord is reminding Job—and us—that He alone commands the origin and purpose of light and darkness. Today’s devotional by A.B. Simpson reflects on this imagery by comparing us to jewels. A diamond, though precious, appears no different than charcoal when hidden in darkness. Its brilliance is revealed only when light strikes it. The same is true of us. Apart from God’s light, we are like lifeless stones—ordinary, unnoticed, and dull.
But when we are placed under the radiance of His presence, we shine—not with our own glow—but by reflecting the glory of Christ. The devotional draws a clear distinction between real gems and paste—imitation jewels that may glimmer briefly but never truly capture or reflect the light. It is Christ in us who brings forth beauty, not our efforts to appear radiant. We, once dwelling in darkness, are now called to display the light of Jesus. His love, His life, His light in us—that is what the world sees when we rest in Him and allow Him to shine.
Personalized Journal Entry – Voice of the Holy Spirit
I have made you Mine, not merely to exist in My kingdom, but to shine with the radiance of My Son. You are not asked to generate light—only to receive it and reflect it. Just as the moon has no light of its own but faithfully reflects the sun, so you are invited to rest in My light and let My glory be seen through you.
There was a time when you walked in shadows, unaware of My nearness. But I called you out—out of darkness, out of striving, out of pretending—and brought you into My marvelous light. You no longer need to imitate beauty or strive for worth. I have placed My Spirit within you, and the life of My Son is now the source of your brightness.
You are My jewel. And though the world may dismiss or overlook what I have done in you, I see the radiance of Christ shining through your yielded spirit. Be still and receive. Let Me place you in alignment with the light, and the beauty of My Son will be unmistakable.

Real-Life Analogy
A prism sitting on a shelf appears ordinary until sunlight streams through the window. Suddenly, it bursts into vibrant colors, scattering rainbows across the room. It didn’t generate the light—it simply revealed what the light could do through it. In the same way, I am at my most beautiful when I rest in the radiance of Jesus and let His life shine through me.
Prayer of Confidence
Father, thank You that I no longer walk in darkness but in the light of Christ. I trust You to position me where Your life can be seen. I rest in the truth that I am not the source—I am the vessel. You have made me a reflection of Jesus, and I embrace that reality today. May Your light shine in and through me, not by effort, but by abiding in the One who is Light.
