Today’s reflection from Abide Above reminds us of the staggering truth of our spiritual inheritance in Christ. Though the flesh remains present in our mortal experience, we are no longer in the flesh—we are in the Spirit, and that changes everything.
Our position in Christ is secure, complete, and eternally accepted—not because of our performance, but because of His perfect offering. Yes, our Father may lovingly discipline us when we walk according to the flesh, but this is not to condemn or cast us out—it’s to draw us deeper into the fellowship of the One who lives in us.
This devotional also beautifully reframes true wealth: having Christ is having all. Even if liberty, family, friends, or finances are absent, if Christ is yours, joy remains. But without Him, even the richest blessings feel hollow. Christ is the treasure chest in which all other gifts must be kept. He Himself is our riches, our liberty, our peace. To suffer with Him is not loss—it is the secret passageway into eternal glory.
🕊️ Personalized Journal Entry – Voice of the Holy Spirit Through Scripture
You are not defined by the pull of the flesh—you are Mine, sealed and indwelt by My Spirit. You may still sense the old desires stirring, but they no longer rule you. I have placed you in Christ, and in Him, you are complete.
Even when I discipline you, it is not rejection—it is affection. I correct My children not because you fall short of acceptance, but because you already belong to Me. I am training you to live in the fullness of your inheritance. You are an heir of God and a co-heir with Christ. That means everything that belongs to Him has been opened to you—not someday, but now, in spirit and truth.
Reckon yourself as one who died with Christ. That old self no longer holds dominion. The flesh is present, yes, but it is no longer in charge. I want you so occupied with the risen Christ that the temptations of the flesh lose their pull—not through striving, but through seeing.
Fix your eyes on My Son. He is your joy, your liberty, your rest. When you have Him, you lack nothing. If every earthly treasure slipped through your fingers, but you still had Him, you would still be the richest soul in the world. He is the treasure trove—your source, your strength, your song.

🧺 Real-Life Analogy
It’s like having a fully stocked pantry hidden behind a cabinet door. From the outside, it may look plain. But once opened, you realize every need is met—flour, oil, fruit, spices, and all that sustains you. That door is Christ. You may feel hunger, but the pantry is never empty. You just need to open the door and enjoy what’s already yours.
🙏🏼 Prayer of Confidence
Father, I thank You that I am no longer in the flesh, but in the Spirit—secure, accepted, and free in Christ. You have placed me in the Beloved and filled me with all that I need for life and godliness. I rejoice that even when I falter, Your discipline flows from love, never rejection. You have made me an heir—jointly united with Christ in glory, and in suffering. I now rest in the wealth of Your Son. He is my treasure trove. I lack nothing because He is everything.
