The War Is Over, Walk In Peace

Romans 5:1 says that because we have been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ. Ray Stedman helps us slow down and really hear that. Peace with God is not a mood we try to maintain. It is the settled result of what Jesus finished. The war is over. God calls us family.
Stedman points to Abraham to show that this has always been God’s way. Before any law was given, Abraham believed what God promised, and God counted him righteous. Same with us. We do not earn this standing. We receive it through Jesus. That is justification by faith.
What happens when we stumble and the conscience gets loud. Stedman says, do not work on your feelings, go back to the facts. Review what God has declared in His Son. Your acceptance does not rise and fall with your performance. You can confess sin without panic, because Jesus settled the account fully.
This is more than relief. It is a doorway into fellowship. When you know the war is over, you stop hiding. You walk with Jesus through the day. You face hard moments without pretending. You extend the same grace you have received. That is the fruit of peace with God.
Journal Entry – Voice of the Holy Spirit Through Scripture
I remind you of the truth. Since you have been justified by faith, you have peace with God through the Lord Jesus Christ. You stand in grace. I poured the love of God into your heart. While you were still a sinner, Christ died for you. Much more now that you are reconciled, you will be saved by His life.
When accusation rises, return to what I have said. There is no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus. He bore your sins in His body, and by His blood God made peace. I have canceled the record that stood against you and nailed it to the cross. By one offering He has perfected for all time those who are being sanctified. Come with confidence to the throne of grace. Confess your sin, and trust Me to cleanse and to restore the joy of fellowship.
I center your life in union with My Son. You were crucified with Christ, and you now live by faith in Him. Consider yourself dead to sin and alive to God. Set your mind on things above where Jesus is seated. Let the peace of Christ rule in your heart. Walk by the Spirit. I will complete the good work I began in you.

Real-Life Analogy
Think of paying a bill online. You submit the payment, and a clear status appears on the screen. Paid. The tension drops. You do not keep trying to pay. You move on with your day. Peace with God is like that, only deeper. The Holy Spirit shows you the receipt written in the blood of Jesus, and the heart rests. From that rest, honesty flows. You can admit a misstep, because the account is settled.
Try this today. If accusation or worry shows up, pause for ten seconds and review the receipt. Say, Lord, I trust You to anchor me in Your finished work and let Your peace move through my words right now. Then continue the conversation or task with a steady heart.
Prayer of Confidence
Father, thank You that through Jesus I stand in grace. Thank You that the war is over, and that peace with You is my present reality. I receive this day as a gift, and I walk in the freedom of justification by faith. When my conscience protests, I will return to the facts You declared in Your Son. Lord, I trust You to keep my heart settled in Your peace and to express that peace through me in every interaction.
