Light For The Trust That Lives In Us
When the Light comes on, trust steps forward.

Faith does not rise from grit. It rises from Jesus, who authors it, grows it, and brings it to completion. Bob Hoekstra points our attention to Him, the Faithful and True Witness. He shows us that confidence blooms where the Lord reveals His name and His heart. As we see who He is, we rest in what He does.
Jesus tells the truth about reality. He tells us what life with the Father is like, and He tells us the hard edges of judgment with the same steady voice. Because He is faithful and true, we can bank on every word He speaks. Faith is not a leap in the dark. It is a step into light.
Hoekstra reminds us that this faith is not self-made. It comes through the revelation of Jesus and grows as we keep turning toward Him. When the Lord unveils His name, our trust rises like dawn in a quiet sky. We do not manufacture trust. We discover it, because He is faithful.
So, today, we look away from our efforts and toward the One who never lies and never fails. We honor the writer by heeding his invitation. Fix your eyes on Jesus. Let His witness settle you. Where His voice clarifies, your heart grows sure.
Journal Entry, Voice of the Holy Spirit Through Scripture
I speak to you as the One who dwells in you. Fix your gaze on Jesus. He began your faith and He brings it to completion. When you grew weary, He carried you. When you could not see, He guided you. I testify to Him in your heart, faithful and true, the living Word who cannot deceive.
I show you the Father through the Son. You have not come to a stingy Father. You have come to the One who gives good gifts. You have been rescued from the father of lies. The Son has made truth your home. Eternal life is to know the Father and the Son He sent, and I keep you in this knowing.
I remind you who you are. Your old man was crucified with Christ. You were buried with Him and raised with Him. You are alive to God in Christ Jesus. Not a project of self improvement. A new creation, joined to the Lord, one spirit with Him. Yield to Me and I will express the life of Jesus through your mortal body.
I speak about the kingdom with clarity. Humble yourself as a child. Receive what the Son reveals. I do not drive you with fear. I assure you with truth. Where Jesus bears witness, faith awakens. Where you behold His faithfulness, your steps grow steady. Keep your eyes on Him. I will make His words living to you and I will quiet your heart in His reliability.
Real-Life Analogy
Think of walking down a dark hallway and flipping on a light switch. The room does not change its furniture when the light comes on. You simply see what was always there. Trust in Jesus works like that. The Spirit within you turns on the light to who Jesus is. You do not force the room to arrange itself. You see clearly, then you walk without stumbling.
Try this today. When you approach a hard conversation or a decision about money or a deadline at work, do not tighten your jaw or manage your heart with rules. Pause and yield. Say, Lord, I entrust this moment to You. Live Your life in me and through me as I speak and decide. Then step forward expecting the indwelling Spirit of Jesus to express patience, clarity, and truth through you. Watch how the light makes the path plain.
Prayer of Confidence
Father, thank You that in Jesus I already possess everything needed for life and godliness. Thank You that He is faithful and true, and that my faith comes through Him. Thank You for making me a new creation, united with Your Son, and for indwelling me by Your Spirit. I gladly yield my mind, my words, and my steps. I receive Your peace as my atmosphere, Your wisdom as my direction, and Your love as my motive. I rest in Christ who authors and finishes my faith, and I walk today in the light You have already given.
