Faith That Flows From Jesus
When His life is the power, the smallest act of trust fills the room with light.

Faith is not something I squeeze out of myself like water from a dry sponge. Faith comes from a Person. Today’s reading points my attention to Jesus, the author and finisher of faith, who supplies what He calls me to walk in. Peter’s words in Acts 3 lift the curtain. A lame man stands strong in the presence of all, and Peter explains that it happened through faith in Jesus’ name, and even that faith came through Him.
I am grateful for how Bob Hoekstra keeps pressing this simple, freeing truth. The Christian life moves forward by trusting an unseen Lord. Sight cannot carry me, and effort cannot produce what only union with Jesus provides. When my eyes drift to circumstances, or to my own capacity, I feel it in my chest. Tension rises. The ground seems to tilt. Then I remember. I do not manufacture faith. I receive it as I look to Him.
Looking to Jesus is not a trick of the eyes. It is a posture of the heart that says, You are here, You are enough, and You are the One living through me. That posture is not passivity. It is participation. I step, but He supplies. I move, but He is the life in the movement. The man at the temple gate did not heal himself. He responded to the name of Jesus and discovered strength that was not his own.
So, today, I thank God for the way He keeps my feet under me. The path of discipleship is not a climb powered by self. It is a walk with Jesus who gives faith, sustains faith, and completes what He begins. I receive this with a smile and an open heart. He has me, and He has you.
Journal Entry – Voice of the Holy Spirit Through Scripture
I dwell in you, and I lead you to set your gaze where life is found. Fix your eyes on Jesus, for He is the source and completer of faith. When you feel weak, remember that you were crucified with Christ, and the life you now live in the body is Christ in you. Consider yourself dead to sin and alive to God, and present yourself to Me as one brought from death to life. I work in you to will and to work for My good pleasure, so walk by faith, not by sight.
As you received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk in Him, rooted and built up in Him. My word births faith within you, so let the message of the risen Jesus dwell richly in your heart. Abide in Him, and His life will be the fruit of your day. This is not a burden placed upon you. This is the gift of My presence within you, the power that raised Jesus from the dead now at work in you.
When you stand before needs that outstrip your resources, call on His name. The name of Jesus is not a formula. It is the reality of His person and power active in you. In that name the lame stand, the fearful find courage, and the weary discover newness of life. You are My new creation. Walk forward with Me. I am faithful, and I will do it.
Let your heart rest. You are seated with Christ, and His victory is your inheritance. Overcome the world by faith, for your confidence is not in your grip on Me, but in My hand holding you. Step into this day. I am here. I am enough.
Real-Life Analogy
Think of flipping on a light switch in a dark room. Your finger moves the switch, but the brightness comes from the power already in the lines. You do not create electricity. You simply connect to it. In the same way, you take steps, make calls, write emails, and have conversations, but the life and strength flow from Jesus within you. Today, when a tense conversation shows up, refuse to draft defenses powered by self. Quietly connect your heart to the Lord who lives in you and say, Lord, I entrust this moment to You. Live Your life in me and through me as I speak with patience and truth. Then open your mouth with a calm, steady tone, and watch how His peace and clarity carry the exchange.
Prayer of Confidence
Lord, thank You that faith is birthed and completed in Jesus. Thank You that I am alive to You and that Your indwelling presence is my sufficiency. I receive Your life for this day. I affirm that I am united with Jesus, and I walk forward resting in Your work within me. Thank You that Your grace is active, Your word is living, and Your Spirit is leading. I gladly rely on You, celebrating the victory that is already mine in Christ.
