Today’s reading from Witness Lee draws a clear connection between the condition of our heart and the reward of seeing God. To be pure in heart is not merely about moral cleanliness or keeping certain rules, but about having an undivided focus toward God Himself. A pure heart seeks nothing apart from Him and desires that His will and His glory be accomplished above all else.
The devotional explains that our relationships operate on different principles. Toward ourselves, we are called to be strict, refusing to make excuses for sin. Toward others, we are called to extend mercy, giving more than they deserve. But toward God, we are to be pure in heart, desiring Him alone. This singleness of purpose positions us to see God both in our daily walk now and in the age to come.
Our spirit is the part of us that receives Jesus, while our heart is the soil where His life grows. To receive Him fully, our spirit must be poor, emptied of self-reliance, and our heart must be pure, uncluttered by competing desires. When our heart is singular in its devotion, Jesus can grow in us unhindered.
The reward for this purity is not merely a blessing, but God Himself. Seeing Him is both the present joy of fellowship and the future glory of His unveiled presence. This is the treasure worth guarding—a heart wholly turned toward the Lord.
Journal Entry – Voice of the Holy Spirit Through Scripture
I have made My home in your heart, and I am shaping it to be single in its purpose. Your spirit has already received Me, and I am the seed of life growing in the soil of your inner being. Guard your heart above all else, for it determines the course of your life.
Let your desires be gathered into one great desire, to know Me and to walk in My will. Remove the distractions that seek to divide your loyalty. The pure in heart see God, not because they have earned a reward, but because there is nothing left clouding their vision.
I am your portion, now and forever. When your eyes are fixed on Me, you will see Me at work in every place and in every season. You will discern My hand in the smallest details and My majesty in the vastness of creation. Let your heart remain single in its devotion, and you will behold Me more clearly each day until you see Me face to face.

Real-Life Analogy
Think of a camera lens. When it is focused on a single subject, the image becomes sharp and clear, while everything else fades into the background. But when the lens tries to capture too many points at once, the image blurs. Your heart is like that lens. When it is set on God alone, your vision of Him becomes vivid and unmistakable.
Today, if competing desires try to crowd your focus, pause and realign. Say, “Lord, I trust You to keep my heart clear and centered on You in this moment.” This may be in a conversation, a decision, or a quiet moment of reflection. Let Him bring the subject of your heart into perfect focus—Himself.
Prayer of Confidence
Lord, thank You that my greatest reward is You. You have placed Your life in me, and I rejoice that my heart can be wholly Yours. I praise You that nothing else satisfies like Your presence. Thank You that as my heart remains pure and undivided, I will see You at work now and will one day see You face to face. I trust You to keep my vision clear and my devotion single, resting in Your fullness.
