Fed by His Faithfulness
A quiet road at first light, a picture of trusting, dwelling, delighting, and committing the way to the Lord.

Psalm 37 invites me to live today with a settled center. Trust in the Lord, do good, stay where He has placed you, and be nourished by His faithfulness. Delight in the Lord and He shapes what the heart wants. Commit your way to Him, trust again, and He acts. Bob Hoekstra’s reflection gathers these lines and points me to grace as the source, not my push, not my performance. Thank you, Bob, for the steady reminder that goodness grows where trust is planted.
As I read, I notice how the order matters. Trust comes first, then good works flow. I am not trying to become worthy, I am drawing from Jesus who is my worth. Feeding on God’s faithfulness changes how I show up in familiar places. I can stay engaged in the land where I live, confident that the Lord is already present and active.
Delight is not a trick to get my way. It is a glad turning of the heart toward the Lord. As I enjoy Him, He writes fresh desires in me. Those desires take shape in ordinary choices. He brings it to pass, in His timing, in His wisdom.
So today I take a gentle, grace-paced approach. Trust, dwell, delight, commit. Not as boxes to check, but as a way of walking with Jesus. The fruit will come as the Spirit works through me.
Journal Entry – Voice of the Holy Spirit Through Scripture
I anchor you in trust. Trust in the Lord and good will arise because I work in you to will and to do what pleases the Father. Dwell where I have planted you and be nourished by My faithfulness. As you delight in Me, I shape the desires of your heart and I form them into lived obedience.
Commit your way to Me. Place your path into My hands. I direct your steps. I bring to completion what I have begun. I make all grace abound so that you have all sufficiency for every good work. Walk by Me. Present yourself to God. Set your mind on things above where the Messiah is. Remember that you are united with the Lord in spirit, a new creation, alive to God in Jesus.
I write My law within you. I give you a new heart and My Spirit within you so that you walk in My ways. I lead you, not by pressure, but by peace. When you yield, I express love, patience, and truth through you. I am faithful, and I will do it.

Real-Life Analogy
Turning a car key is simple. The action is small, the engine supplies the power, and the vehicle moves because a larger system engages. Trust and commit work like that. I take a simple turn toward the Lord, the indwelling Spirit of Jesus supplies the life, and movement happens without white knuckles.
Try this today. Before you return a tough phone call, pause and hand the conversation to the Lord. Say, Lord, I rely on You to carry my words and express Your patience through me. Then make the call with a settled heart, expecting His life to show up in tone, timing, and truth.
Prayer of Confidence
Father, thank You for this path today. Thank You that in Jesus I am a new creation, and that Your Spirit lives in me. I thank You that Your faithfulness nourishes me where I dwell. I delight in You, and I receive the desires You plant. I commit my way to You and I trust You to act in Your wisdom. Lord, I trust You to work through me in each conversation and decision, so that goodness flows from Your grace.
