đź“– No More Custodians
Like a switch already wired to power, Christ is never out of reach—He is immediately available through faith.

At the heart of today’s reflection by E. Stanley Jones is the liberating truth that Christ is not distant, institutionalized, or hidden behind human intermediaries. Through faith, we have immediate and unhindered access to Jesus Himself—and through Him, to the Father. Paul declares that the law once served as a custodian until Christ came, but now, in Him, we are full sons and daughters, with open access to the throne of grace.
Jones highlights how this truth was reignited during the Reformation. The key discovery wasn’t just justification by faith—it was the immediacy of Christ's availability. For centuries, Jesus had been perceived as veiled behind layers of mediation: through priests, rituals, church systems, and even Mary. But the veil was torn, not just in the temple, but in the human heart. Jesus is available anywhere, anytime—to any person who believes.
Jones illustrates this beautifully with the story of a Hindu philosopher who pointed a truth-seeking student not to himself, but to Jesus. That interaction unlocked something powerful: the realization that Jesus doesn’t need human appointment books, religious credentials, or geographic proximity. He is present. He is alive. He is here.
This is not just theological theory. It is a present reality. You don’t have to go through a guru, a church hierarchy, or even your own striving. The Son has brought you near. If you’re in Christ, then He lives in you. And He is always ready—not just to hear, but to live His life in you and through you in this very moment.
📓 Journal Entry – Voice of the Holy Spirit Through Scripture
I am not far away. I am not waiting behind stained glass or sacred robes. I am not confined to cathedrals or withheld until you prove yourself worthy. I have made My home in you. In Christ, you have been brought near by My grace.
I tore the veil so that you could draw near with confidence—not through intermediaries, but through the living and new way opened by My Son. You are no longer under a guardian; you are My child, fully embraced, fully accepted, fully united with Me. You don’t need to look up or reach out—I am already here.
There are no custodians between us. No hoops to jump through. The same power that raised Christ from the dead dwells in you. And I invite you, moment by moment, to yield—not to a system, but to a Person. My Son lives in you, and I live through you.
So when your need is great or your thoughts are muddled, don't search for a distant solution. Christ is your wisdom. Christ is your peace. Christ is your source. I am not the God of the far-off—I am the Father who abides within.

🪞 Real-Life Analogy
It’s like having a light switch on the wall—always within reach. You don’t have to send a request to the electric company every time you need light. You don’t need a technician or special permission. The source is already connected. You simply turn the switch, and the power flows.
In the same way, Jesus is always present—never offline, never out of range. When you’re in a moment of discouragement, temptation, or uncertainty, you don’t need to consult a hierarchy or pause to earn your way back into His presence. The abiding life means that in that very moment, you can quietly say in your heart: “Lord, I trust You to live Your life in me and through me right now.” Whether it’s responding to an unkind word, stepping into an unknown task, or extending grace to someone who’s difficult—He is here, not just to be with you, but to be your life.
🙏 Prayer of Confidence
Father, thank You that in Christ, I’m not waiting outside some spiritual gate. I’m already inside, seated with You, embraced as Your child, and filled with Your presence. I don’t need to climb toward You—I get to rest in You. Thank You for removing every barrier and for making Your Son not only my Savior but my constant life. Today, I walk with quiet assurance that You are with me, in me, and available in every breath and every decision.
