When the Bridegroom Pulls Up a Chair
The Bridegroom is here, so the table is set for joy.

The picture today is simple. Religious pressure says, try harder, fast more, act solemn, earn your way to God. Jesus answers with a smile. The Bridegroom is here. His presence turns the room from a waiting hall into a wedding feast. That is not a call to reckless living. It is an invitation to real life in Him, shared at His table, where grace sets the tone and joy becomes the normal air of the room.
Witness Lee reminds us that Jesus heals and Jesus hosts. He is the Physician who restores us, and He is the Bridegroom who delights to be with us. With Pharisees, Jesus exposes the futility of self made righteousness. With John’s disciples, He invites them to stop mourning as if God were far away, and to start feasting because God in the flesh has drawn near. It is not a funeral without Him. It is a wedding with Him.
This matters for Monday mornings and crowded calendars. If we think God is distant, we will reach for spiritual austerity to prove ourselves. If we trust that Jesus is with us, we will receive, rest, and respond from His life within us. Feasting here does not mean indulgence. It means fellowship. It means living from union with Jesus, who shares His joy, His peace, and His power as our daily portion.
Thank you, Witness Lee, for pointing us to the Bridegroom who changes the atmosphere. We are not earning a seat. We are seated with Him. We do not fast to be noticed. We feast because we are loved. The Bridegroom is present. So we live today in His company, and let His joy do the heavy lifting.
Journal Entry – Voice of the Holy Spirit Through Scripture
I am with you, not as a distant observer, but as the Bridegroom who has set His love on you. I healed you, I made you Mine, and I take joy in your presence. You belong at My table. Let your heart rest where I seat you in grace.
You are joined to Me. I gave you My life, and I dwell in you. Do not treat this day as if you were alone. I remain with you in every hour. Draw on My life, moment by moment, and you will discover that joy is not a task. Joy is the overflow of My nearness.
Stand in the grace I have opened. You have peace with the Father through Me. Do not negotiate for what I have already given. Receive. Walk. Abide. As you set your mind on things above, you will find your steps guided below.
I have pledged Myself to you. I am preparing you as My Bride in love and purity. This is not your project. It is My work in you. Yield to Me, and I will shape your desires, your words, and your responses according to My heart.
Fasting has its place, yet never as a way to purchase My favor. I am your favor. I am your feast. When sorrow comes, I comfort. When temptation presses, I provide a way through. When fear speaks loudly, I quiet you with My love.
I pour out grace upon grace. In My presence there is fullness of joy. Let your soul rejoice in Me. As you abide in Me, you bear fruit that remains, not by strain, but by our union. My Spirit fills you with joy and peace in believing.
I rejoice over you. I will not leave you. I am the Bridegroom who delights to be with His people. Eat the bread of My goodness. Drink the cup of My mercy. Live today as one who is loved, and let My life be seen in you.
Real Life Analogy
Think about setting the table when a dear friend is coming for dinner. You clear space, turn on a soft light, and bring out real plates rather than paper ones. You are not trying to impress. You are making room to enjoy the person who is arriving. When your friend sits down, the conversation itself becomes the feast.
That is what the Spirit of Jesus does in ordinary moments. He turns daily spaces into fellowship with the Bridegroom. You do not strain for a mood. You make room for a Person. For example, before a hard conversation at work, whisper, Lord, I trust You to host this moment through me. Lead my tone, my pace, and my words, so Your joy and peace are what others meet. Then step in, listen without defensiveness, and speak with steady kindness, relying on His presence rather than your performance.
Prayer of Confidence
Lord, thank You that I am welcomed to the table, not as a guest on probation, but as one united with Jesus. Thank You for peace with the Father and access to the grace in which I stand. Today I choose to enjoy Your company. Lord, I trust You to express Your joy in me and through me, turning tasks into fellowship and conversations into ministry. I rest in Your love, and I receive the feast of Your presence.
