What You Will Get

The train to life requires letting go of our baggage—so we can step fully into the journey God has prepared.

Today, Oswald Chambers gently exposes the subtle hunger we all have for “great things”—whether possessions, accolades, blessings, or simply more than what we already have. He draws from Jeremiah 45, where Baruch, overwhelmed by disappointment, is lovingly corrected by God: rather than offering Baruch earthly success, God promises something far richer—his very life preserved.

Chambers reminds us that blessings and possessions are passing, but the life that is hidden with Christ in God is eternal and incomparable. He presses us to consider: are we willing to let go of our personal definitions of greatness and fully abandon ourselves to God's sovereign hand? True abandonment, Chambers explains, is a trust so complete that we no longer ask "what about this?" or "what about that?"—we simply rest.

The pathway to a joyful, vibrant life isn’t striving for more, but surrendering completely. It is in this full yielding that God gifts us the purest treasure: life Himself — Christ alive in us, our true Life.

Personalized Journal Entry – Voice of the Holy Spirit Through Scripture

You are hidden with Christ in Me. Your life is not your own; it is now bound up in the life of My Son. Set your mind on the things above, not on the things that are on earth. For the world and its desires are passing away, but whoever does My will lives forever.

Lay aside every encumbrance and the sin that so easily entangles, and run with endurance the race set before you, fixing your eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of your faith. Do not ask, "What about this?" or "Will I lose that?" for I know the plans I have for you, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope.

Trust in Me with all your heart and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Me, and I will direct your paths. When you yield to Me completely, you will find rest for your soul and delight beyond what you imagined. For whoever loses his life for My sake will find it, and to him I will give the crown of life.

Real-Life Analogy

Imagine standing at a train station, clutching two heavy suitcases stuffed with everything you think you might need for the journey ahead. The train arrives and the conductor says, "You’re welcome aboard, but you must leave the baggage behind. There's everything you need waiting for you on the train." Some cling tightly to their bags, too fearful to let go. But those who trust enough to drop them step into the comfort, provision, and freedom prepared for them.

In the same way, abandonment to God means dropping what we think we need, stepping into the life He has already secured for us in Christ. The train doesn’t require our burdens—it only invites our trust.

Prayer of Confidence

Father, I thank You for the unspeakable gift of life in Christ. I release every false treasure I have clung to, knowing that true life is found only in You. I rejoice that I no longer need to grasp at blessings or fear losing anything of value, because everything I need is hidden in Christ. Today, I rest in the security of Your goodness, the certainty of Your promises, and the delight of Your presence. You have given me my life—and it is more than enough.
