What To Do?

Flipping the switch didn’t create the light—it revealed the power that was already present.

The question “What shall we do?” echoes across every heart that has come to recognize the truth about Jesus. In Acts 2:38, Peter responds not with ambiguity, but with clarity: there is indeed something to be done. First, a change of mind—repentance—must occur. This isn’t an emotional breakdown, nor a dramatic display of guilt. Rather, repentance is a decisive turning in one’s thinking—a spiritual realignment. You thought Jesus was just a man, a teacher, perhaps a prophet. But now, seeing Him as Lord of all, you align your thoughts with the truth: He is the Christ, the Son of the Living God.

Second, Peter calls for baptism—not as a ritual that saves, but as an outward expression of that inner transformation. It’s a bold step of identification: “I belong to Him.” Baptism signifies the cutting off from the old and the declaration of newness in Christ.

And then God does what only He can do—He gives the Holy Spirit. Not as a feeling, not as a spectacle, not with signs and wonders, but with the quiet, life-giving indwelling of His presence. The Spirit comes to manifest the risen Christ within you—to make Him real, near, and known.

Personalized Journal Entry – Voice of the Holy Spirit

I live within you not as a visitor but as the very life that now defines your being. Long before your heart could even form the question, “What shall I do?” I was already drawing you near. When you turned—when you changed your mind about Me—My presence filled the space that once belonged to confusion, self-effort, and striving.

I do not need emotion to validate repentance; I look for faith. And your faith was met with My fullness. Baptism did not earn My coming—it simply marked the joy of your belonging. Your identity shifted when you repented, but your experience deepened when you chose to publicly affirm, “I am Christ’s.”

Now I dwell in you to reveal Jesus through you. You may not see signs and wonders each day, but you will see Me in the way your heart grows gentle, in the peace that anchors you when storms rage, in the assurance that you are never alone. This is My gift to you—Christ in you, the hope of glory.

Real-Life Analogy

It’s like walking into a dark room and flipping on a light switch. The wiring was already there, installed by the Master Electrician. But it wasn’t until you acted on the switch—turned it on—that the power revealed what was already present. The light didn’t have to be begged for. It simply responded to the alignment of your action with the truth of its design.

Prayer of Confidence

Father, I thank You that when I changed my mind about Jesus, You changed everything within me. You didn’t require tears or theatrics—just faith. You gave me Your Spirit, not as a visitor, but as a permanent, indwelling reality. I’m grateful that You live in me to reveal Christ through me. I rest in that truth today, trusting that Your presence is more than enough to illuminate each moment. I belong to Jesus, and that settles everything.
