Matthew 6 calls us to shift our treasure from what moth can chew and rust can eat, to what heaven holds forever. Today’s reading encourages young and old to study, to work, and to finish their duties, yet not to live from anxiety. The difference is subtle in words, but huge in the heart. Duty can be faithful and peaceful. Anxiety is restless and grasping.

Witness Lee’s counsel is family wise. Learn. Graduate. Earn honestly. Then give freely. Let generosity grow from the life and nature of our Father. He reminds me that a savings plan can be useful, but a life stockpiled out of fear shrinks the soul. The Lord provides for His people, and He invites us to trust Him in practical ways.

This is not a call to laziness or to poor planning. It is a call to live as citizens of another kingdom while we show up fully in this one. We can sow and reap without worshiping the harvest. We can keep budgets and still hold everything with open hands. Our Father knows what we need. He takes care of us in every way.

So here is the invitation. Do your work today with diligence. Refuse the inner story that says you are on your own. Set your mind above where Jesus is. Give some away. Lay up treasure in heaven. Anxiety loosens when the heart centers on the Lord who is enough.

Journal Entry - Voice of the Holy Spirit Through Scripture
I teach you to distinguish duty from worry. You died with Christ to the basic rules of this world, so do not submit to fear that disguises itself as wisdom. Seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things will be added. I am your Father’s Spirit. I know what you need before you ask. Cast your cares on Me, because I care for you.

Set your mind on the things above where the Lord Jesus is seated. Your life is hidden with Him in God. Let generosity become your habit. Do good, be rich in good works, be ready to share, and so lay up treasure for the future as a firm foundation. Sow bountifully and you will reap bountifully. I am able to make all grace abound to you, so that you have all sufficiency in all things and abound in every good work.

Honor the Lord with your wealth and with the firstfruits of all your produce. Remember how I led Israel and gave them a good land. I rained manna to teach them to trust Me daily. Do not set your hope on riches, which are uncertain. Set it on Me. In all you do, do it in the name of the Lord Jesus, with thanksgiving. Abide in Me, and fruit will remain.

Real-Life Analogy
Think of setting up an automatic transfer in your banking app. Each payday a small amount moves from checking to long term savings. You do not feel the strain each time. Over months it adds up. Walking with the Lord can look like that. The Holy Spirit nudges simple, steady choices that move the heart toward heaven. A quiet gift here. An act of help there. Contentment in a purchase you skip. Over time, treasure shifts to where Jesus is, and peace grows.

Try this today. When you get paid or when you make a purchase, pause and say, Lord, I trust You to guide this decision and to express Your generosity through me. Then set aside a specific amount to give, or choose a small expense to release, and let the Spirit of Jesus make that moment light and free.

Prayer of Confidence
Father, thank You that I am cared for by You. Thank You for joining me to Your Son, and for teaching me to seek Your kingdom first. I receive work as a gift. I receive rest as a gift. I receive resources as stewardship, not as security. I am grateful that Your Spirit makes me content and generous. Lord, I trust You to center my heart in heaven and to live Your giving life through me today.
