Mark 6:56 says that as many as touched Him were made whole. Today’s reading paints a simple picture. Not just reading. Not just saying prayers. Touching Jesus by faith. When we do, something passes from Him into us. Courage for the hard thing. Patience with the trying one. Fortitude when we feel we cannot go on. A sweetness of peace that settles the inside.
Amy Carmichael reminds us that there is always a word from God ready to meet us and carry us further. The good fight of faith lasts to the end, yet the Father has provided full supply for the battle. It is His good pleasure to give us the Kingdom, so there is nothing to fear.
Robert Murray McCheyne adds a needed balance. A believer is known by peace and joy, and also by warfare in distress. The peace is holy, it comes from Jesus. The warfare is real, yet it is fought with a deep assurance that the Victor lives in us.
So we come back to the same invitation. In the quiet moment, touch the hem of His garment by turning your attention to the Lord Jesus. Take one word from Scripture and let the Spirit make it life within you. Walk into the day from that contact, and expect Him to do what only He can do.
Journal Entry – Voice of the Holy Spirit Through Scripture
I draw you near with confidence to the throne of grace. I am present to heal, to make whole, to steady your heart. As many as touch Jesus by faith are made well. My words are spirit and life. Take hold of My word, and go from strength to strength. Fight the good fight of faith. It is your Father’s good pleasure to give you the Kingdom.
Let the peace of Christ rule in your heart. Cast all your cares on Me. Be anxious for nothing. In everything, give thanks. I keep you in perfect peace as your mind is stayed on Me. I am with you in the day of trouble and in the ordinary hour. I teach your hands for the battle, yet I wrap your heart with the peace that Jesus gives, not as the world gives.
Abide in the Son. Fix your eyes on Jesus. Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly. Put on the whole armor of God. Walk by the Spirit. My power works in you who believe, the same power that raised Jesus from the dead. I am faithful to finish what I began. You are My workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works that I prepared beforehand.

Real-Life Analogy
Think of a touch lamp on a bedside table. In the dark, a simple touch brings the room to life. You do not flip several switches or strain your eyes. You make contact, and light fills the space. Living the day with Jesus is like that. As the Holy Spirit centers us on the Lord, His life lights the room of our circumstances, and we move with calm clarity rather than tension.
Try this today. Before a difficult call or a crowded errand, pause for a few seconds and make that inner contact. Say, Lord, I trust You to bring Your light and peace through me as I take this next step. Then act with a steady tone, expecting the Spirit of Jesus to supply patience and honesty.
Prayer of Confidence
Father, thank You that in Your Son I have a place to come and a Person to touch by faith. Thank You for words that are spirit and life, for peace that guards my heart, and for grace that meets me in every task. I receive this day as a gift. I agree with Your good pleasure to give me the Kingdom. Lord, I trust You to express Your life through me in conversations, decisions, and quiet moments, and to keep me whole as I walk with You.
