Today’s reading from A.B. Simpson takes us into the supernatural secret behind Paul’s tireless ministry: he no longer relied on his own strength, but drew daily, moment by moment, from the risen Christ. The same body that was raised from Joseph’s tomb had become, for Paul, not just a doctrinal truth but a present, living source of vitality. Christ was not only his Savior, but his very life.
Paul’s confidence didn’t rest in religious zeal or personal perseverance—it rested in the One who conquered death and now lives through His people. As he wrote, “We are members of His body, of His flesh, and of His bones.” He saw himself not as striving for God, but as a vessel through whom Christ expressed His life.
Simpson reminds us that the resurrection is not merely a past event but a present provision. We no longer live by the fading sustenance of this world but by the Bread that came down from heaven—Jesus Himself. Manna could sustain for a day, but the life of Christ sustains for eternity. Have we truly embraced this divine reality, allowing the Incarnate One to live His life through our mortal bodies? Or are we still striving to live for Him in our own effort?
✍🏼 Personalized Journal Entry – Voice of the Holy Spirit Through Scripture
You were never meant to live the Christian life for Me—I am the Life in you. I am not a distant example for you to follow; I am the living Bread who came down from heaven, to be your nourishment day by day, breath by breath.
I allowed you to come to the end of yourself—not to crush you, but to bring you into the secret that sustained Paul. The sentence of death was not your end, but your beginning. It broke the illusion of self-sufficiency and opened the way for resurrection life to flow. You now live by faith in Me, the One who raised the dead and still delivers.
You are not simply trying to follow in My footsteps. You are joined to Me—bone of My bone, flesh of My flesh. I am the strength of your heart, the portion that never fades, the joy that does not dim with age or weariness. The bread I give is Myself, and whoever partakes of Me will never hunger again.
Live not by what you see or feel but by what is already true: I am your life. Let your mortal body be the dwelling through which I move, speak, and love. As you abide in Me, you will know the unending strength of resurrection life pulsing through every fiber of your being.

🥖 Real-Life Analogy
It’s like waking up with an empty stomach and reaching for yesterday’s crumbs, hoping they’ll sustain you. But instead, the oven is warm, and fresh bread is being pulled out, golden and fragrant, meant for this very morning. Why settle for leftovers when the Baker Himself is offering you today’s provision?
🙏🏼 Prayer of Confidence
Father, I thank You that Christ is not only my Redeemer but my very Life. I do not need to muster strength or borrow from yesterday’s effort—I partake of the living Bread today. I am united with the risen Lord, bone of His bone, flesh of His flesh. Your resurrection power is already within me, not as a distant hope but a present reality. I rest in this divine exchange, confident that the One who lives in me is enough for this moment and forever.
