The Higher Law Within
Freedom isn't found in resisting the law—it’s found in rising above it, carried forward by the Spirit’s life within.
Today’s Abide Above devotional reminds us that we no longer live under the law of Moses, which governed external conduct, demanded compliance, and exposed our inability to live righteously. Instead, we now live under a new, internal reality—the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus.
This is not a matter of fighting the law or even trying to live up to it. It’s about seeing ourselves as already free from it entirely. Through the death and resurrection of Christ, we have not only died to sin, but also to the law itself. We are now joined to Another—Jesus risen—and His Spirit governs our life from within.
The law was made for the flesh, and both were put to death on the cross. What remains now is the life of the Spirit. We are not in the flesh, nor are we under the law. We are in Christ, living by the Spirit, and bearing fruit that flows naturally from our union with Him.
Personalized Journal Entry in the Holy Spirit’s Voice Through Scripture
You are not under the law but under grace, and in this grace, you now walk free. The law once shouted demands from outside, exposing what your flesh could never fulfill. But I dwell within you now, not to echo demands but to express My life through you.
The law brought condemnation and aroused sin, but I bring life and peace. I am not asking you to struggle or strive, for your old self was crucified with Christ. You are dead to the law through the body of My Son, and now joined to Him who rose in power.
You have passed from death to life, from labor to rest, from bondage to liberty. Do not turn back. Stand firm in this freedom. The flesh and law go hand in hand, but you are not in the flesh—you are Mine, alive in the Spirit. I direct and control you from the inside out.
No longer analyze yourself in light of rules; instead, abide in Me. As you do, you will bear fruit—not because of pressure from without, but because of union with Me within. The life you now live is not your own; it is Mine, flowing through you, fulfilling all that the law pointed to—without effort, without burden, without fear.

Prayer of Confident Trust
Father, I rejoice that I am no longer under the law’s demands. Thank You for placing me in Christ, where the law has no voice, no weight, and no claim on me. You have placed Your Spirit within me, and I trust Him to express Your life moment by moment. I no longer strive to meet expectations—I rest in the finished work of Jesus and delight in the liberty of Your grace. I walk today not as one bound by rules, but as one carried by love, led by life, and filled with peace.
Amen.
