The Hidden Strength Within

God’s hidden strength within us shines outward quietly, bringing light where it is most needed.

A.B. Simpson reminds us today of the immeasurable riches found in union with God through the indwelling Spirit. When the Holy Spirit takes His rightful place within us, we step into the inheritance God has promised. The verse in Ephesians 3:20 declares that God is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to His power at work within us. Simpson encourages us to see that this power is not distant or external, but alive in us through Jesus Christ.

He teaches that even our physical strength and health flow out of the life of the Spirit within. As our souls prosper, we find that other areas of our lives come into alignment. When the kingdom of God and His righteousness reign in us, His provision naturally follows. This does not mean striving to make ourselves spiritual, but resting in the reality of His Spirit already dwelling in us, producing life and fruit.

Simpson also points out that the life of God within does not need outward display or self-advertising. Just as Jesus could not be hidden, so too the one who abides in Him will shine with a quiet radiance that others cannot ignore. The Spirit-filled life becomes a witness by its very existence, drawing those who are hungry for hope. This inner strength reveals the glory of Christ in us, far more than any effort of our own ever could.

The heart of today’s message is an invitation to welcome the Spirit’s indwelling glory. To embrace this hidden strength is to experience the fullness of God’s presence, power, and provision. It is not something we earn, but something we receive by faith, rejoicing in the reality that God Himself lives within us, making us vessels of His life.

Journal Entry – Voice of the Holy Spirit Through Scripture

My child, My power is not far from you, for I dwell within you. I am able to do far more than you can ask or imagine, not by your effort but by My life in you. I have given you every spiritual blessing in Christ, and I am working all things together for your good.

As you rest in Me, your soul prospers, and from that prosperity flows strength, provision, and peace. Do not be anxious about what you lack, for in Me you lack nothing. Seek first My kingdom within you, and you will see how I provide for all else.

When My life fills you, you do not need to announce it, for light cannot be hidden. The world will see the difference without you striving to make it known. Let My presence in you be your testimony, and My power will be revealed as you trust Me moment by moment.

Real-Life Analogy

Think of a small lamp plugged into a power outlet. The lamp itself has no ability to produce light without connection. Yet once plugged in, the electricity flows invisibly, and the room is filled with brightness. The lamp does not advertise its power source, but the glow is undeniable. In the same way, we are vessels of God’s hidden strength, and His power flows quietly yet visibly through us when we yield to Him.

Today, when I feel weak or unnoticed, I can pause and say, “Lord, I trust You to shine Your life through me in this moment.” I do not need to prove myself or strive to be seen, for Your hidden strength is already flowing and will make its own witness.

Prayer of Confidence

Lord, I thank You that Your immeasurable power is at work within me. I rest in the truth that my soul prospers because of Your Spirit’s indwelling presence. I rejoice that I do not need to strive or advertise, for in Jesus Your hidden strength flows through me. I walk today confident that You will be glorified in me as I trust You to live Your life through me.
