The Fullness I Already Have

We are not waiting to be filled—we’ve already been stocked with every spiritual blessing in Christ.

E. Stanley Jones draws our attention to Ephesians 1:3, which celebrates a staggering truth: we’ve already been blessed with every spiritual blessing in Christ. Not some. Not most. Every single one—past tense, already ours, located in Christ, where we too are spiritually seated. The implications are breathtaking: nothing essential for our life in God is found outside of Christ. All that the human soul needs—peace, identity, security, meaning, fulfillment—is wrapped up in the Person of Jesus.

Jones contrasts this sufficiency with the tragic path of those who wander beyond Christ, hoping to supplement Him with “something more.” A friend of his, once anchored in Christ, turned to a religious blend that promised greater insight, but in the end, they found only restlessness and sadness. It’s a sobering picture: seeking life apart from the Source of life leaves one depleted. Even within the Christian world, we risk settling for partial glimpses of Christ when we build systems around fragments of truth rather than embracing the fullness of Christ Himself.

Jones warns that even our denominations may offer only a sliver of Christ when we cling to a phase of truth rather than the Person of Truth. When Christ is confined by narrow emphasis, we live under a waning crescent when a full moon has already risen. The answer? A full surrender to the full Christ—not just as a Savior from sin, but as the indwelling source of every spiritual blessing. The result is not only heavenly blessings—but a heavenly life now, because Christ Himself is our heaven.

He concludes with a gentle assertion: if we’re in Christ, then we’re not on the way to heaven; we’re already living from it. We are seated with Him in heavenly places. This isn’t future hope alone—it’s present reality. And this reality fills the believer with rest, satisfaction, and joy that no guru, ritual, or religious effort could ever provide.

Journal Entry – Voice of the Holy Spirit Through Scripture

Beloved, you lack nothing in Me. All that is Mine has been made yours the moment you were placed into Me. Every spiritual blessing that heaven holds—wisdom, joy, righteousness, peace, power, patience, and unshakable hope—has already been poured into your spirit through your union with Me. You are not waiting for Me to give you more; you are invited to walk in what I’ve already given.

I am your completeness. When your heart hungers for something more, remember that your spirit is not starving—it is satisfied in Me. The ache you sometimes feel is not a signal to search outside of Me, but a reminder to draw deeply from what is already yours within. The world will offer crescents and shadows, but you live in the fullness of the Son.

You don’t need to chase another revelation, another experience, or another form of spirituality. Your journey is not outward but inward—resting in Me, trusting My life to express itself through you. I am the Way. Not a way. And as you yield to Me moment by moment, I guide your steps in paths of righteousness that flow from heaven’s abundance.

Lift your eyes from earthly systems and religious compartments. Let your gaze settle on Me—your fullness, your joy, your inheritance. In Me, you are home already.

Real-Life Analogy

Imagine you’ve been given a pantry full of every nourishing ingredient imaginable. Whole foods, spices, fresh produce—abundance beyond measure. Yet every day, you step outside and knock on your neighbor’s door, asking for a few scraps of bread, unaware that you already possess a feast. This is how many live—begging for morsels when a banquet has been provided in Christ.

Today, when a sense of need arises—be it for peace, love, affirmation, or purpose—you can pause and say, “Lord, I trust You to live Your life through me in this moment.” For example, if a conversation feels intimidating, you don’t need to ask for courage. You can yield in quiet trust and rest in the truth that boldness already resides within you by the Holy Spirit.

Prayer of Confidence

Father, I rejoice today in the finished work of Christ and the overflowing blessing that is already mine in Him. I thank You that I am not lacking—You’ve placed me in Your Son, and in Him, I am complete. When the world tempts me to search for more, remind me that “more” isn’t found out there—it’s found by resting in what I already possess in Christ. I stand in Your provision with joy, security, and peace. Heaven is not far—it is near, because I am in Him who is seated at Your right hand.
