The Blueprint Already Built
Just as a completed model holds the vision of the builder, your life is already complete in Christ—now unfolding by grace.

Today’s devotional from A.B. Simpson draws our hearts to the staggering truth that we are already complete in Christ. Paul’s declaration in Colossians 2:10 isn’t a promise of future wholeness—it’s a present reality for those in Him. Just as an architect’s model is already perfectly designed before the construction begins, so too is our life of holiness fully realized in Christ. All that we need—wisdom, righteousness, sanctification, and redemption—has already been given to us in Him.
Rather than striving for progress through self-effort or measuring spiritual growth by performance, the believer rests in the finished work of Christ. The Holy Spirit now lovingly unfolds the life of Christ in us, revealing and expressing that pre-designed blueprint moment by moment. It’s not about earning more grace—it’s about drawing upon the fullness already within us through union with Him.
This fullness isn’t impersonal. It’s not simply strength or grace dispensed like divine currency. It is Jesus Himself—living, active, relational—expressing His life through us. He is not distant, dispensing power from afar. He indwells us and lives His life in and through us.
Simpson ends with a prayer for the grace that perfects us in every trial. In our exchanged life lens, we reinterpret this not as a plea for what we lack but a humble yielding to the One who already dwells within us to be all we need, right now.
Journal Entry – Voice of the Holy Spirit Through Scripture
You are not lacking anything in Me. In Christ, you are complete—not someday, but now. The design of your life in Me was prepared before time began, and I have already declared it finished in Him. I am not waiting for you to catch up. I am inviting you to trust that I have already joined you to the One who is your righteousness, your wisdom, your sanctification, your redemption.
My Spirit in you brings into reality what is already true in heaven. As you trust Me, the fullness of Christ is made visible in your thoughts, words, and actions—not through your effort, but through My presence. I do not dispense abstract strength; I reveal a Person—Christ in you. You don’t need to climb upward toward Me. I am in you, and I am forming Christ in every part of you that yields.
When trials come, do not search for new strength. Instead, rest in My provision. I am your strength. When the path feels too steep, I will walk it in you. When wisdom is needed, I will be wisdom in your thoughts. When you are tempted to measure your progress, remember: your life is hidden with Christ in Me. There is no need to perform, only to trust.
Stay in My love. Stay in My Word. Stay aware of your union with Me. I am the Vine, and you are the branch—not a separate entity, but a living expression of My life. Trust Me to bear fruit through you today. Your completeness is not a goal to reach. It is a gift to receive and a reality to walk in, moment by moment.

Real-Life Analogy
Think of a music box that’s already wound up. You don’t need to turn the crank—it’s ready. But it only plays when you open the lid. The melody isn’t created in that moment; it’s released. In the same way, your life in Christ has already been wound with all the fullness of heaven. As you open your heart in trust and yielding, His melody plays through you—not because you performed, but because you trusted what was already set in motion by His life within.
Today, when stress rises or decisions loom, pause. Acknowledge that Jesus is your wisdom and patience. You might whisper inwardly, “Lord, I yield to You. Express Your peace through me here.” This is not you trying to be peaceful—it’s the music of Christ’s life playing through your opened trust.
Prayer of Confidence
Father,
Thank You that in Christ, I lack nothing. You have already given me everything I need for life and godliness—not as distant blessings, but as the very indwelling presence of Your Son. I trust You to express His life in me today. I rest in the knowledge that trials do not demand more from me—they invite me to yield more to You. I praise You for the unshakable truth that I am complete in Him. Let me live today from this fullness.
Amen.
