Today’s devotional from Witness Lee draws from Peter’s bold declaration in Acts 3, where he contrasts the crowd’s choice of a murderer over the “Holy and Righteous One,” identifying Jesus as the Author of life. The Greek term archegos reveals much more than we might see on the surface—it means originator, captain, founder, the very beginning from which all life flows.

When Peter refers to Christ in this way, he’s not just making a theological point—he’s highlighting a reality: Jesus is not merely a healer who touches bodies, but the very wellspring from whom all vitality and true living flow. Healing, then, is not just a transaction of divine power; it is the overflow of life itself—His life.

Sickness often reflects a lack of vitality. And while medical professionals look to strengthen the body to fight disease, Scripture lifts our eyes to the ultimate cure—Christ Himself. When His life fills us, it swallows up death. His presence brings more than healing—it brings resurrection power. If we want life, we don’t need to seek a result—we need to come to the Source.

✍🏼 Personalized Journal Entry – Voice of the Holy Spirit Through Scripture

I am not a distant healer who works from afar. I am the origin of life itself, the One from whom breath, vitality, and wholeness flow. I was not given life—I AM life. Before anything existed, I was the source of all that lives, and I still am.

When Peter stood before the crowd and named Me as the Author of life, he was proclaiming more than My power to heal a man’s legs—he was declaring My power to make all things new. What was broken in the garden has found its answer in Me. I do not repair—I regenerate. I do not merely relieve symptoms—I impart Myself as life.

You may notice weakness in your body or weariness in your soul, but I am not limited by either. My life in you is not fragile. It is not reactive. It is enduring, overcoming, and abundant. It is resurrection life, flowing not from your effort but from My presence within you.

Let Me be your Source today—not just your support. Let Me be your beginning, your energy, your endurance. I am not asking you to live for Me—I am offering to live in you. The life I give swallows up death and shines light into every shadow. Do not reach for more strength—receive Me as Life.

🧺 Real-Life Analogy

It’s like plugging a lamp into an outlet. You can replace the bulb, dust the shade, and reposition it to your liking—but without connection to the source, there is no light. The beauty and design of the lamp don’t matter until it receives what only the outlet can give. So it is with the Spirit of Christ. He is your source of life—everything else flows from that connection.

🙏🏼 Prayer of Confidence

Jesus, thank You for being more than a healer—you are my Life. I rejoice that You dwell in me, not as a visitor, but as the Source of all that I need. You are not just adding strength to my weakness; You are the life that swallows up death. I rest in the certainty that I lack nothing in You. Today, I live by the life of the One who is risen, reigning, and residing within me.
