Stand Where You Are!

Already above—resting in the heavenly places where Christ is seated.

So many believers live as if they are still trying to get somewhere spiritually—climbing, striving, rededicating, surrendering, and re-committing in hopes of finally attaining the victorious Christian life. But what if the real victory is not found in gaining new ground, but in standing on the ground already given?

Today’s devotional draws our attention to the truth of Ephesians 2:4–6: we have already been raised with Christ and seated with Him in the heavenly places. The Christian life isn’t about struggling to reach heaven one day; it’s about recognizing that, spiritually speaking, we’re already there. The believer’s position is in Christ, and Christ is seated—resting, reigning, secure.

Our problem isn’t distance from God but disbelief in our closeness. We live as if this world is our anchor, but God has already lifted us above it. We belong to another realm—heavenly, eternal, unshakable—and our calling is to live from thatposition, not toward it.

From that elevated view, our affections are changed. Earth’s disappointments lose their grip. Our joy is no longer sourced from outcomes here, but from the unchanging reality there. Abiding in Christ in heaven means importing heaven’s peace, patience, and power into our daily life on earth. As J.B.S. puts it, we surpass the inhabitants of this world—not because we try harder, but because we draw from above.

So today, let’s stop trying to attain our position. Let’s abide in the One who already placed us there.

✍🏼 Personalized Journal Entry – Voice of the Holy Spirit Through Scripture

You are already seated with Me. I did not leave you at the foot of the mountain to climb your way to victory—I lifted you up when I raised Christ from the dead. I placed you where He is, so that your life would not be defined by the struggle of earth, but by the sufficiency of heaven.

You do not need to try harder to be accepted. You are already accepted in the Beloved. You do not need to rededicate your efforts—I have already dedicated you by My Spirit, setting you apart to walk in what I have finished.

Come to Me—not to ask for access, but to enjoy it. Come—not to work toward victory, but to stand in it. You are not striving to rise above. You are risen.

When you abide in your heavenly position, you will descend into your earthly circumstances with a peace the world cannot understand. You will not react from the dust—you will respond from the throne. Your hope, your joy, your outlook—all are shaped by where you are, not where you feel. And you are in Christ, and Christ is seated.

I have given you the mind of Christ. I have given you access to every spiritual blessing. All I ask is that you believe what I have already done and abide in the truth of it. When you stand in Me, you will never fall.

🧳 Real-Life Analogy

It’s like arriving at your destination, suitcase in hand, but refusing to step out of the airport because you still feel like you're in transit. The truth is—you’re already there. You’re no longer waiting on arrival. The key is to unpack, settle in, and start living from where you’ve landed.

🙏🏼 Prayer of Confidence

Father, I thank You that I no longer have to strive toward a spiritual destination. In Christ, I have arrived. You have seated me in the heavenly places—not someday, but now—and my life is hidden with Christ in You. I rest today in the sufficiency of that placement. I let go of striving and stand in the full assurance that I am already where I belong—held, lifted, and secured in You.
