Living in the Father’s Presence
Just as a fire fills the room with warmth when given space, the life of Jesus fills us when we yield.

In today’s devotional, Oswald Chambers draws our attention to a breathtaking reality: the Son of God lives within every believer by the direct act of God. Just as Jesus entered the world through Mary by divine initiative, He has entered our lives in the moment of new birth. This is not a figure of speech or a poetic sentiment, but a present and actual truth — Jesus Himself indwelling mortal flesh.
As God’s children, we are meant to live face-to-face with the Father, giving space for the holy innocence, simplicity, and unity of the Son to be expressed through us. Our natural reasoning may object or warn us away from such wholehearted trust, but we are called to respond with the same confidence Jesus displayed when He declared He must be about His Father’s business.
Chambers warns of the danger of sidelining Jesus within us, replacing His quiet communion with the Father with the noise of the world or the noise of our own self-direction. The question is not whether we speak to Him, but whether His life is praying, serving, and ministering through us.
God’s purpose in placing His Son in us is that His work continues through our yielded lives. The indwelling Jesus still carries out His passion, not to earn redemption, but to fill up what remains in the mission of revealing Himself to the world. Our part is not to take over, but to yield in trust so His life flows unhindered.
Journal Entry – Voice of the Holy Spirit Through Scripture
I have made My dwelling within you, not as a visitor, but as your life. Just as I came into the world through Mary by the Father’s will, so I have come into you through the new birth, bringing My presence, My innocence, and My communion with the Father into your mortal frame.
Live before the Father with the confidence of a true child, knowing you are always welcome. Let My life in you be simple, undivided, and pure in its focus on Him. Do not push Me aside in favor of the world’s demands or your own wisdom. Remain in the fellowship I have with the Father, for I am in you to carry out His will.
When distractions rise, quiet your heart. When reasoning argues, trust My leading. I am praying within you, interceding according to the Father’s purposes. I am working through you with the same devotion and obedience that marked My walk on earth. Let Me live through you today.

Real-Life Analogy
Think of a fireplace on a cold evening. The logs may be in place, but until a flame is given room to burn freely, the room remains cold. The fire’s warmth is not created by your effort; it is released when you make space for it to do what it is meant to do. In the same way, the life of Jesus in you is already present and powerful, yet it must be given room to work.
Today, when tasks or pressures tempt you to take control, pause and yield. You might say, “Lord, I trust You to express Your life in me and through me in this situation.” His warmth, guidance, and ministry will flow without strain when you make room for His presence.
Prayer of Confidence
Lord, thank You that You have come to dwell in me as my life. I rest in the truth that Your innocence, Your fellowship with the Father, and Your love are mine in full measure. I praise You that I do not need to create this life, for You are living it in me. I trust You to express Yourself through me today, bringing the Father glory in all I do.
