Quiet, Yet Carrying You

Quiet is not empty, it is full of Presence.

Silence can rattle us. We start wondering if we missed something, or if God stepped out of the room. Oswald Chambers reminds us that, in Bethany, Jesus lingered while Lazarus grew worse. The quiet did not signal neglect. It signaled a larger unveiling of the Father’s heart. Time does not pressure God. His silence does not mean absence. It often means intimacy.

Chambers helps us see that silence is not the absence of an answer. It is a different kind of answer. A holy stillness that settles over the house. Mary and Martha waited with aching hearts. Then Jesus arrived and revealed more of who He is. The Giver of life stood in front of a tomb, and glory filled what once seemed like delay.

I am writing as a fellow traveler who knows the long hallway of quiet. I have stared into slow days that did not move when I wanted them to. In that waiting, Jesus did not withdraw. He drew near in a way words could not capture. The quiet became a sanctuary where my wants loosened their grip, and His purpose grew steady and bright.

So if you are living in a quiet Bethany of your own, take courage. The Lord is not late. He is loving you with a precise love. His silence is not a stone in your hands. It is bread you will taste later, warm and life giving. Thank you, Oswald, for pointing us back to the heart of the Father that is always good, and to Jesus who reveals that goodness perfectly.

Journal Entry - Voice of the Holy Spirit Through Scripture
I am with you in the quiet. I am not withholding Myself from you. I am guiding you into the calm strength of the Son, where your life is hidden with Him in Me. When the room is still and your questions multiply, set your mind on the risen Jesus who lives in you. You died with Him, you were raised with Him, and I bear witness that you now walk in newness of life.

Wait with Me without panic. Return to Me in rest and find your confidence renewed. I guard your heart and mind with the peace of God as you bring every concern into My presence with thanksgiving. When you cannot find words, I intercede for you with a wisdom deeper than your understanding. I am working all things together for good, shaping you to the likeness of My Son.

Do not measure My love by the clock. The vision hastens to its time. Though it seems slow, wait for it. My grace is sufficient in the delay, and My power grows clear in your weakness. Those who wait for Me receive fresh endurance. I am good to those who seek Me in quiet trust.

Let your desire align with Mine. Ask in the name of Jesus so that the Father is glorified in the Son. Abide in Me and let My words abide in you, and you will find your asking drawn into My heart. Your life is a place where I glorify My name. Even when the path runs through shadows, I restore your soul and lead you for My name’s sake.

So, be still inside. Cast your cares on Me. I care for you with a faithful care that does not fail. Like a weaned child with its mother, quiet your soul in My presence. I am here, and I am enough. In the hush, learn My cadence. I am not far away. I am within you, faithful, gentle, and strong, shaping a testimony that will feed many with the bread of life.

Real-Life Analogy
Think of dough resting on the counter. Nothing looks active. Yet inside, the yeast is at work. The rise happens without your constant poking, and the loaf becomes what heat will soon reveal. In the same way, the Holy Spirit is active within you in the quiet. You do not need to fuss and prod your soul into growth. Trust His unseen work.

A simple practice for a tense afternoon at the office. When the email thread turns sharp and you want to manage the outcome by force, set your hands down for a moment and say, Lord, I entrust this conversation to You. Live Your wisdom in me, and express Your kindness through me right now. Then write the next sentence with a calm tone, honest words, and a steady respect that reflects Jesus rather than your fear.

Prayer of Confidence
Father, thank You that in Jesus I am already Yours, accepted in the Beloved, and held in perfect love. Thank You that I have died with Him and now live with Him, and that Your Spirit dwells in me. Thank You for holy silence that invites me into deeper trust. I receive Your peace that guards my heart. I rejoice that Your timing is exact and Your purpose is good. Today I rest in Your faithful presence, and I welcome Your life to be expressed through me for the glory of Your name. Amen.
