Power Already Ours

Just as we step under a stream of warm air and feel it envelop us, so we stand in Christ and are surrounded by His power.

Today’s devotional from Nick Harrison reminds us that our source of strength isn’t found in armor or effort—it’s found in abiding in the Person of Christ. Ruth Paxson draws our attention to that small but life-defining word: “in.” Be strong in the Lord. That’s not a rallying cry for human effort. It’s a quiet yet unshakable invitation to stand in the victory that’s already been secured. Our power doesn’t come from gritting our teeth or summoning courage. It comes from being in Him, whose might has already overcome the enemy.

Victory isn’t something we work for—it’s something we walk in. The Lord has bound the strong man. The battle isn’t ours to win—it’s ours to stand in. Our attitude, then, shifts from fear to assurance, from striving to resting. As Darby encourages, we lift our gaze above what we are and fix it on who God is. Only there do we become shaped by His power rather than our weakness.

This is what it means to be formed by the revelation of God: we live not by constantly evaluating ourselves, but by resting in the One who lives within us. The war is real, but the outcome is already decided. The enemy roars, but his chains rattle behind him.

So today, we don’t begin the battle hoping to survive—we begin it standing in victory, drawing from the power already ours in Christ.

📓 Journal Entry – Voice of the Holy Spirit

You are not standing alone, My beloved. You are not called to muster strength, but to trust the One who is your strength. The battle you face has already been won by My Son, and you are in Him. Let your thoughts rise above what you feel and settle on what I declare: You are more than a conqueror because you are in Christ.

The enemy will whisper lies to stir fear, but I have given you truth to anchor your heart. You are not exposed or vulnerable. You are enclosed—wrapped in the righteousness of Christ, held in the arms of My might. Your armor is not external but internal: it is the power of Christ indwelling you, fully able, fully ready.

Let your mind stay on Me today. When you face resistance, don’t react from your soul—respond from My Spirit. When doubt tries to rise, remember where you stand. You are in Christ. And because of that, you can rest even as you advance, confident even in the midst of conflict.

I have not called you to fear the battle, but to walk in the victory of My Son. Be strong in Me. Draw from My strength that already fills you. And remember: you are never fighting for victory—you are living from it.

🪞Real-Life Analogy

Imagine standing under a hand dryer that’s already blowing warm air. You don’t have to press a button or wave your hand—you simply step into the flow. The warmth is already there. The power is already active. Your only task is to remain under it.

This is what it’s like to live in Christ’s strength. The power is not something you switch on with effort—it’s something you remain in through trust. The moment you face criticism at work, or disappointment in a relationship, or the temptation to control something beyond your reach—pause. And instead of reacting from fear or frustration, whisper within, “Lord, I yield to You in this moment. Live through me here.” That simple posture—like standing under warm air—allows His strength to do what yours never could.

🙏 Prayer of Confidence

Father, I thank You that I don’t have to search for strength today. You have already given me every spiritual blessing in Christ. I rest in Your might, not mine. I rejoice that the outcome of the battle isn’t uncertain, because Christ has already won. You’ve placed me in Him—and that is the secret, the anchor, the assurance I need. As I walk into today, I trust You to live Your victorious life in me and through me. I am safe. I am strong. I am Yours.
