Peace That Flows From a New Nature
True peace flows from the nature of Christ within, unshaken by life’s tipping moments.

The heart of today’s devotional from Witness Lee shows that true peacemaking is not a matter of political diplomacy or skillful compromise. Instead, it is the natural outflow of a transformed heart in union with Jesus. Those who are strict with themselves, merciful toward others, and pure before God naturally live at peace with those around them. This peace is not forced, nor is it a tactic to avoid conflict for personal advantage. It is the fruit of God’s nature within us.
A genuine peacemaker does not try to maintain peace by ignoring truth or hiding offense. The devotional points out that being political is marked by falsehood and hypocrisy, but being a true peacemaker is rooted in righteousness and sincerity. Like the New Jerusalem, described as square rather than round, we are called to be upright and uncompromising in truth while remaining merciful and gracious toward others.
When this peace flows from God’s nature in us, it becomes an unmistakable testimony. Those who encounter such a person will see more than a kind disposition; they will recognize a likeness to the Father Himself. In a world where sons of men contend and fight, the sons of God reflect the heart of the Prince of Peace. This is not something we manufacture. It springs from the life of Jesus within us, shaping our responses in every relationship.
This devotional reminds us that peacemaking should never be reduced to surface behavior. Outward calm without an inward change is politics, not peace. True peace comes from a nature that has been made new in Christ, one that is anchored in His righteousness and overflowing with His mercy. As this nature shapes our actions, our very presence declares that we belong to Him.
Journal Entry – Voice of the Holy Spirit Through Scripture
I have given you My peace, not as the world gives. My peace is not born of strategies or agreements, but of My own life placed within you. You are a new creation, and My Spirit works in you to make you upright in truth, gentle in mercy, and pure in devotion to the Father.
Live at peace with all as far as it depends on you. Let My love guard your tongue from stirring conflict and guide your hands to extend grace. The peace you extend is not your own; it flows from Me. As you abide in Me, you will not need to force yourself to be a peacemaker, for it is in My nature to make peace, and My nature is now your own.
When others see you responding without retaliation, without bitterness, without scheming, they will see the evidence that you are My child. Let them recognize in you the same peace they would find in Me. Let this peace be more than restraint; it is the outworking of My life in you.

Real-Life Analogy
Think of a cup filled with clear, still water. If the water is pure, then no matter how the cup is tipped, only pure water will flow out. But if the water is murky, tipping the cup will reveal what is hidden inside. In the same way, the nature that fills our hearts will be revealed when life tips us. If our hearts are filled with the life of Jesus, then even when shaken, what will flow out is peace, mercy, and truth.
Today, if you encounter someone who provokes you or a situation that unsettles you, remember you do not have to produce peace from your own effort. You can quietly affirm, “Lord, I trust You to express Your peace in me and through me in this moment.” In that yielded trust, His life will flow into the moment as only He can.
Prayer of Confidence
Lord, I thank You that Your peace is already mine in You. You have placed within me the nature that loves truth, shows mercy, and seeks to live at peace with all. I rejoice that I do not need to pretend or force peace, for it flows from Your life within me. I affirm that today, in every interaction, Your peace will govern my words, guide my steps, and display that I am Your child.
