More Than Enough Grace
God’s grace never runs out. It overflows in every circumstance, more than sufficient for every need.

Today’s devotional from Nick Harrison reminds us of the abundant sufficiency of God’s grace. The writer recalls a moment of heaviness and weariness after a long day when the Spirit brought to mind the promise from 2 Corinthians 12:9: “My grace is sufficient for you.” That truth struck like a lightning flash, transforming despair into laughter. Suddenly the idea of God’s grace not being enough seemed as absurd as a tiny fish worrying that it might drink a river dry, or a mouse fearing famine while sitting inside the granaries of Egypt.
Charles Spurgeon expands the thought with his vivid imagery. He paints the picture of a man on a mountain who worries he might exhaust the oxygen in the air, yet the earth reassures him that its atmosphere is more than sufficient. The point is simple yet so comforting. God’s grace is inexhaustible. It cannot run out, and it cannot be overdrawn. Whether for daily weariness, sudden trials, or lifelong burdens, His grace is always enough.
Samuel Rutherford adds that God’s resources are like a pantry filled with food for every hungry child and a cellar brimming with wine for every thirsty soul. It is good to hunger and thirst for Jesus, because He delights to satisfy. Far from growing tired of meeting needs, He fills again and again until hearts are fully satisfied.
What all these voices testify to is the same truth: we can rest in the sufficiency of God’s grace. We do not live in scarcity, fear, or panic. Instead, we live in the abundance of God’s supply. His grace is not just sufficient, it is overflowing. Thanks be to Him that in every circumstance, His grace meets us and is always enough.
Journal Entry – Voice of the Holy Spirit Through Scripture
My child, My grace toward you is not limited or scarce. It is sufficient for you in every circumstance. When you are weak, My power is made perfect. Do not imagine that you could ever exhaust My supply. Just as the heavens above never run out of air and the seas never run dry, My grace cannot be depleted.
I invite you to rest in the abundance of what I have already given you. I have blessed you with every spiritual blessing in Christ. I supply all your needs according to My riches in glory. I am able to make all grace abound to you so that in all things at all times, you have all you need and overflow in every good work.
Hunger and thirst for Me, for I will fill you. Draw near in confidence, knowing that the throne of grace is always open. Rejoice that you do not live in fear of famine, but in the abundance of My supply. Rest in this, My beloved, for My grace is sufficient for you.

Real-Life Analogy
Think of a cell phone plan with “unlimited data.” At first, you may still worry about going over the limit, until you remember the word “unlimited.” No matter how much you use, there is always more available. God’s grace is like that. It is not capped, not rationed, and not in danger of running out. It is more than enough for every demand.
Today, when I am tempted to feel overwhelmed by what lies before me, I can pause and say, “Lord, I trust You to live Your life through me, drawing from Your abundant grace in this very moment.” That reminder turns fear of lack into confidence in His sufficiency.
Prayer of Confidence
Lord, I thank You that Your grace is always sufficient for me. I never need to fear that I will run out or be left empty. You are the God of abundance, and Your supply is unending. I rejoice that when I am weak, Your power is shown strong. I rest in the truth that Your grace meets me in every circumstance and will always be enough.
