Love Without Limits

Love shines even in storms—especially when no one knocks.

E. Stanley Jones reflects on a love that refuses to draw lines. Paul’s tender benediction to the Corinthian believers—“My love be with you all in Christ Jesus”—was warm, but still confined. True Christian love goes further. It doesn’t stop at fellow believers; it stretches into enemy territory.

Jesus showed us the highest form of love, offering forgiveness to His executioners. Stephen followed in His footsteps, praying for his murderers while the stones rained down. And Paul, abandoned at trial, refused to let bitterness take root. Instead, he extended grace to those who deserted him.

Jones reminds us that this kind of love—love without preference, without payback, without walls—is the only kind that can be called great. Without it, all our so-called greatness is reduced to nothing. We are not remembered for our talent, our success, or our brilliance—but for how we loved. Christ’s life through us is seen most clearly when we love those who give us no reason to.

✍🏼 Personalized Journal Entry – Voice of the Holy Spirit Through Scripture

My child, I have poured My love into your heart not just for your comfort, but for their redemption. The same love that spoke forgiveness from the cross now lives in you—not to be stored, but to be shared.

You were not called to love only the easy, the kind, the familiar. I have placed you in the midst of a world that wounds, forgets, rejects, and misunderstands—so that through you, My boundless love may find them. When they hurt you, I remain your healing. When they betray you, I remain your faithful companion. When they curse you, I speak blessing through your surrendered life.

The measure of My love in you is not seen in how you respond to affection, but in how you respond to hostility. When you are wronged and choose grace, Heaven leans in. When you are deserted and respond with peace, you reveal Me. You are never more like Me than when you forgive without condition, and love without a hook.

This is the life of Christ in you: not reactive, but radiant. Not defensive, but divine. I will love through you until there are no boundaries left. Let Me.

🧺 Real-Life Analogy

It’s like leaving your porch light on during a storm—not because someone knocked, but because someone might. You don’t know if the one stumbling through the rain is a friend or a foe, but love doesn’t wait to find out. It shines either way.

🙏🏼 Prayer of Confidence

Father, I thank You that the love of Christ already lives in me. I don’t need to manufacture kindness or force myself to forgive—You are the one loving through me. I rest in the reality that Your love has no limits and is never diminished by rejection. I rejoice that, in Christ, I can bless those who curse, release those who wound, and love those who seem least deserving. I trust You to express Your heart through mine today, even in hard places.
