His Name On My Ordinary
Wearing His name like a key, Jesus opens the ordinary and walks in through us.

We are not vessels that only receive. We are cups that pour because Jesus lives in us. E. Stanley Jones reminds us that life in Jesus is not a private glow. It is a public life, words and deeds done in His name with thanks to the Father.
Jones tells a simple story of a boy who pointed and said, the Jesus man is going along. It stung him in the best way. People read our lives long before they read a Bible. What they see should match the name we carry.
Doing everything in the name of the Lord is not pressure, it is permission. We are not sent out to represent our own energy. We are sent in His stead, in His Spirit. The name of Jesus is not a label we stick on our plans, it is the living presence that energizes our steps.
So we move into the day with confidence and humility. Not as cringers, as Jones says, but as people under a name that every knee will honor. We live, work, speak, and serve in partnership with the One who indwells us. He is the content. We are the container.
Journal Entry – Voice of the Holy Spirit Through Scripture
I am the Holy Spirit, and I have set you in the Son. Whatever you do, in word or deed, do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through Him. I send you as He was sent, not in human strength, but in My power. I work in you to will and to act for the pleasure of God. I open doors and give words. I make you My letter, known and read by all. I remind you that you died, your life is now hidden with Christ in God. When He who is your life appears, you also will appear with Him in glory. Therefore, whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God. I lead you to walk in love, in truth, in good works I prepared ahead of time. I make you bold and gentle, fruitful and at rest.
Real-Life Analogy
Think of a name badge that opens secured doors. Without it, you stand outside. With it, the sensor recognizes you and the latch clicks. The badge carries authority you did not earn. You simply wear it and walk.
That is what it is like to act in the name of Jesus. Today, when a need shows up at work or at home, whisper from your heart, Lord, I trust You to act through me here, with Your wisdom and kindness. Then do the next simple thing. Make the call, send the note, wash the dish, offer the patient answer. His life moves through ordinary motions, and people taste His goodness.
Prayer of Confidence
Father, thank You that I am in Jesus and Jesus is in me. Thank You that Your Spirit empowers both my words and my work. I gladly carry His name into my errands, my meetings, and my quiet chores. I agree with Your plan to express the life of Your Son through me today. I thank You that Your sufficiency, Your love, and Your courage are present in me already. I step forward with gratitude.
