Jesus Christ: The Holy and Righteous One
Christ’s righteousness flows within like pure water filling an empty cup

Today’s reflection from Witness Lee calls us to behold Christ in His unique and matchless purity—not only in His moral perfection but in His absolute union with God. In Acts 3:14, Peter refers to Jesus as both “the Holy One” and “the Righteous One”—titles not given lightly or metaphorically, but as declarations of identity. Holiness here does not simply mean moral behavior—it speaks of One wholly set apart, fully belonging to God, and entirely for Him. Righteousness, likewise, is not merely doing right things, but being right with God, with people, and even with creation itself.
Only Jesus embodies these realities. From birth to resurrection, His life was never divided, distracted, or defiled. He never wavered in His devotion to the Father. He was never out of step with God’s heart, never misaligned with others, and never even misused or disrespected creation. He truly was the Holy and Righteous One—the only man ever to walk this earth in such union.
We are not naturally right with God, others, or even inanimate objects—we slam doors, throw objects, speak harshly, and break fellowship. But Christ in us is different. He is holy and righteous. And when we stop striving to be like Him and instead yield to His indwelling presence, His life flows through us in holiness and righteousness—not as imitation, but as participation in His nature.
✍🏼 Personalized Journal Entry – Voice of the Holy Spirit Through Scripture
I have never asked you to manufacture holiness. I have asked you to receive Mine.
You were not called to imitate the Holy One—you were called to be joined to Him. Christ in you is the hope of glory. He is not merely your example; He is your very life. You are not expected to reproduce His righteousness through willpower. You are invited to yield and allow His righteousness to express itself through your surrendered soul.
The One who is utterly set apart—who never once drifted from the Father's will—now lives in you. You have been made a vessel for holiness, not by effort but by union. My Spirit is forming Christ in you—not a better version of you, but the fullness of Him.
You once were wrong with Me, wrong with others, and even wrong with creation itself. But now, because you are in Christ, I see you as holy and without blemish. And because He lives in you, His holiness is not a standard to reach, but a presence to trust. My grace doesn’t overlook your failures—it replaces them with the life of the Righteous One.
Rest in this: I am not refining your old self into something holy. I have crucified it and given you a new heart—a new spirit, indwelt by My Spirit. You are not the source, but you are the vessel. Abide, and Christ will be seen.

🧼 Real-Life Analogy
It’s like pouring fresh, clear water into a cup that used to be filled with muddy water. You don’t scrub and scrub the cup, hoping to cleanse every speck of dirt. You place it under a flowing stream. Eventually, the clean water pushes out the impurities, filling the vessel with only what is pure. The cup becomes clean—not because of effort, but because of what it contains.
🙏🏼 Prayer of Confidence
Father, I thank You that Jesus is not merely my example—He is my life. He is the Holy One, and by Your Spirit, He lives in me. I rejoice that His righteousness is now mine—not earned, but imparted through union. I no longer strive to become what You’ve already made me in Him. I trust the Spirit of holiness within to express Christ through me, moment by moment. Thank You for making me a vessel of the Righteous One.
