Israel Turning to Christ
The meal was always prepared—Israel will one day recognize the feast already waiting in Christ.

In today’s devotional by Witness Lee, we are reminded that the earthly nation of Israel still lives under a shadow of longing—deep dissatisfaction that cannot be remedied by political alliances, military strength, or human strategy. While the modern state of Israel seeks security and survival through natural means, Scripture reveals that the true famine is spiritual. Like the sons of Jacob who unknowingly bowed before their brother Joseph, Israel too will one day turn and behold the One they pierced.
The passage in Genesis reveals a deeper prophetic picture: Joseph, rejected and sold by his brothers, becomes their provider in a time of famine. In the same way, Jesus, whom Israel rejected, will be revealed in the end as their Deliverer. Zechariah and Paul both point to this future moment—one of recognition, mourning, and salvation. Though Israel is currently blind to their Messiah, the day is coming when the veil will be lifted, and they will look upon Him and weep—not with despair, but with the dawning of reconciliation.
What human effort could never secure, Christ has already accomplished. And in His perfect timing, He will bring about the restoration of His people—not by force, but by opening their eyes to the truth of who He is.
Journal Entry – Voice of the Holy Spirit
I have not forgotten My covenant. Though generations have passed and the nations rage, My promises remain. My love for Israel is not dependent on their recognition of Me, but on the eternal Word I have spoken. I am not slow in fulfilling My purposes—I am patient, desiring none to perish but for all to turn and see.
They will look upon Me, the One they pierced, and I will not turn away from their sorrow. Like Joseph, I will receive them with mercy, not wrath. Though they sold Me, I will nourish them. Though they rejected Me, I will embrace them. Though they wandered long, I have prepared a place for their return.
The famine they endure is not just political or national—it is the ache of being cut off from the very Life they were meant to receive. Yet even now, I water the root. Even now, I stir the heart of a remnant. In My time, the veil will be removed, and they will see not just a crucified carpenter, but the risen King.
I am the Deliverer. I have come out of Zion. I will turn away ungodliness from Jacob. All of this will be done by grace—so that no flesh may boast, and all eyes will behold the One who is both their Brother and their Lord.

Real-Life Analogy
It’s like searching every shelf in the pantry when you're hungry, only to realize the meal was already prepared and waiting in the slow cooker—warm, ready, and filling the house with fragrance. The effort to fix the hunger on your own only delays the comfort that was always there, simply waiting to be received.
Prayer of Confidence
Lord Jesus, I praise You as the faithful Deliverer—the One who fulfills every promise with perfect wisdom and love. I thank You that Your covenant with Israel has not been forgotten and that even now, You are preparing hearts to behold You as their Messiah. What no treaty or triumph can achieve, You have already secured through the cross and resurrection. I rest in Your timing, rejoice in Your mercy, and trust in Your restoration—both for Israel and for all who are called by Your name.
