Held Where Love Cannot Fail
Secure in love, fastened where no power can break the hold

Some days it seems like trouble nips at our heels from morning until night. Stedman asks a tender question that steadies the soul, who or what can separate us from the love of Jesus. He walks us through the usual suspects, pressure, lack, danger, even death, and then he lifts our eyes. None of it has the power to pry us out of the Lord’s embrace.
I used to think love for God meant proving myself with bigger promises and busier schedules. Stedman’s reflection reminds me that love grows best where I trust the love that already holds me. This is not passivity. It is confidence in the risen One who shares His life with us. Hard places do not pull us from Him. They press us closer to Him.
Scripture does not pretend that pain is small. It simply declares that Jesus is greater. Angels, demons, powers, the present, the future, the vast everything of creation, none of it can break the union God established in His Son. The family of God learns to say together, if God is for us, who can be against us. That is not bravado. That is fearless rest.
So we love God by resting on what He has already done in Jesus. We step forward with honest courage, not to earn His care, but because we already have it. Thank you, Ray Stedman, for putting words to a reality that meets us in the middle of real life.
Journal Entry – Voice of the Holy Spirit Through Scripture
I anchor you in the love of My Son, and I hold you where no power can break My grip. In trouble and narrow places I do not step away. I work all things together for the good I have purposed in those who belong to the body of My Son. I gave Him up for you all, and with Him I freely supply all that you need for life and godliness. I justify, I glorify, and I keep you by My power through faith.
Death cannot sever you, nor can life’s noise. Angels cannot claim you, nor can rulers move you from My hand. Heights do not lift you beyond My reach, depths do not bury you out of My sight. I have sealed you with the Holy Spirit of promise, the guarantee of your inheritance. Your life is hidden with the Messiah in Me. No one can snatch you from My hand or from the hand of My Son.
I began this work in you, and I will bring it to completion. I keep you as a living stone among a people I am forming. In your weakness I display the sufficiency of the life of Jesus in your mortal body. Stand in this grace. Count yourself alive to Me in the Anointed One, and let thanksgiving lead you into the obedience that faith loves to offer.
Real-Life Analogy
Think of the solid click of a seatbelt. You can tug against it, you can hit a bump, the belt stays latched. That click does not remove the bumps, it keeps you secure through them. In the same way, the Holy Spirit keeps you fastened into the faithful love of Jesus. The road may be rough, but your security does not loosen.
A specific moment, you open an email with disappointing news about a project. Instead of scrambling to manage your image or forcing a cheerful tone, turn inward to the Lord who indwells you and say, Lord, I rely on You here, express Your steadiness and honesty through me as I reply. Then write with clear truth and quiet kindness. He supplies what self-effort cannot.
Prayer of Confidence
Father, thank You that in Jesus I am held where love cannot fail. Thank You that no trouble, no lack, no power on earth or in the heavens can separate me from Your love in the Messiah. You have sealed me with the Spirit. You have made me alive together with Your Son. Today I walk forward counting on Your indwelling life to shape my words, my choices, and my responses. I rejoice that You complete what You begin, and I rest in the victory of Your faithful love.
