He Heals In The Wilderness

Bitter water made sweet, Jesus our Healer and Sustainer.

Israel had just crossed the sea. They were thirsty, tired, and standing beside bitter water. Into that ordinary trouble, God spoke a promise that names His heart, I am the Lord who heals you. A. B. Simpson reminds us that the God who rescues our souls also cares for our bodies, our households, and our daily needs. Salvation is not a far off hope someday. It is the life of Jesus shared with us today.

This is where faith becomes simple and real. Anyone can talk about trusting God for heaven when life is quiet. Trust meets us on Monday morning when the numbers do not add up, when the diagnosis lands, when strength runs low. Simpson invites us to see the wilderness as a classroom where the Lord turns bitter water sweet, and where our Provider trains our hearts to lean on Him for everything.

God does not ask us to muscle through our needs with religious effort. He calls us to abide. When we live in union with Jesus, we discover His sufficiency for body and soul. He forgives our sins. He bears our cares. He gives daily bread. He walks into our weakness as the One who sustains.

Thank you, Dr. Simpson, for pointing our eyes to the Lord who heals. Not a slogan. Not a slogan at all. A Name, kindly given to weary travelers. He is near. He is able. He is good.

Journal Entry – Voice of the Holy Spirit Through Scripture

I am with you in the place that feels like Marah. I take you by the hand as the Lord who heals you. I forgive all your iniquity and I bring renewal to what is worn and aching. I carry your anxieties and supply all your need according to My riches in glory in Christ Jesus. Do not worry about tomorrow. Seek My kingdom and righteousness. I know what you need.

I am your life. You were crucified with Christ and you live now in Him. Reckon yourself alive to God and present yourself to Me as one brought from death to life. Abide in Me and you will bear fruit. My Spirit who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you and gives life to your mortal body as you walk with Me. When the elders pray and you are anointed, the prayer of faith will raise you up according to My wisdom and love. By the wounds of Jesus you have been brought home to the Shepherd and Overseer of your soul.

I lead you with a yoke that is easy and a burden that is light. I give daily bread. I tested Israel with manna so they would learn that life is not sustained by bread alone but by every word that proceeds from Me. Come to Me. Find rest. Let My peace rule in your heart as you give thanks. I am your healer. I am your provider. I am your peace.

Real-Life Analogy

Think of turning the key in a car on a cold morning. The battery does not create power by trying harder. The connection allows power to flow. In the same way, the Holy Spirit in you is the living power, not your effort. He supplies what you cannot manufacture. Trust connects you. When worry about a medical test or a bill starts to rise, pause what you are doing and quietly say, Lord, I rely on You to express Your life within me right now. Then make the phone call, take the medicine, keep the appointment, or set up the payment plan with a settled heart, expecting Jesus to act through you with wisdom, patience, and calm honesty.

Prayer of Confidence

Lord, thank You that in Jesus I am already united to Your life. You are the One who heals and sustains. You have forgiven my sins, given me Your Spirit, and opened the way for peace to rule my heart. I gratefully receive Your care for my body and my daily needs. I agree with Your Word that You supply all that concerns me. I rest in Your nearness and goodness today. Amen.
