First the Kingdom, Quiet in the Heart

Matthew 6 points me to a different source of life. Jesus does not minimize real needs, He lifts my eyes to a Father who already knows them. Witness Lee’s reflection reminds me that the Sermon on the Mount is not a moral ladder for human effort. It is a description of life shared with God, the divine life expressing rest, joy, and sufficiency. Anxiety belongs to the old way of living on our own. Rest belongs to the new way of living from Him.
When I try to manage tomorrow from my own resources, worry multiplies. Jesus redirects attention to the King and His kingdom. Seek first, He says. Not as a slogan, but as a way of being. Trust the Father, receive His righteousness in the Son, and watch how daily provision finds its place.
This is not a call to indifference. It is a call to dependence. The Father’s care frees the heart to stay present to the people in front of me, to the assignments already on my plate, and to the Spirit who indwells me. As Jesus is central, needless turmoil loosens its grip.
So I welcome this day as an opportunity to practice a different center. I bring my thoughts under His good rule. I let His peace weigh more than the headlines. I remember that in Jesus I am not alone, and that the life within me is not anxious.
Journal Entry – Voice of the Holy Spirit Through Scripture
I turn your gaze to the Father who knows your needs before you ask. Seek first His kingdom and His righteousness. I set your heart where Jesus reigns and I teach you to live from what is already yours in Him. I quiet anxious thoughts with peace that guards heart and mind. I remind you that He who did not spare His own Son graciously gives all things needed for His will today.
You are a new creation. Consider yourself dead to sin and alive to God in Christ Jesus. Present yourself to God and be renewed in your mind. Cast your care upon the Father because He cares for you. Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly. My fruit is love, joy, and peace. I supply what you need for every good work. Fix your eyes on Jesus and walk with Me.
When concern rises, come to Me. Take His yoke and find rest for your soul. I keep you in perfect peace as your mind stays on Me. Trust in the Lord forever, for in Him is everlasting strength. I am faithful to complete the good work begun in you. Today is the day of simple obedience, received from union with the Son.

Real-Life Analogy
Think of using maps on your phone during a busy drive. Traffic clogs the route, the screen flags a delay, and then a new path appears. You do not fight the traffic with more noise, you simply accept the better route and follow the turn by turn. Seeking first the kingdom works like that. The Holy Spirit redirects attention from anxious loops to the way of Jesus. As I consent to His lead, the inner congestion eases and the day moves with clarity.
Try this. Before reading an email that usually spikes concern, pause and say, Lord, I trust You to be my life in this response. Then read slowly, answer with honesty and kindness, and let the Spirit carry your tone and timing.
Prayer of Confidence
Father, thank You that in Jesus I already have what I need for this day. Thank You that Your kingdom and Your righteousness are my first concern, and that You add what is necessary in Your wise order. I receive Your peace over my schedule and conversations. I present myself to You with a willing heart. Lord, I trust You to live Your life in me and through me as I walk through today.
