Faith That Rests, Jesus Alive In Me
Morning light on the table, a quiet picture of faith at rest in Jesus

I woke up today with Galatians 2:20 ringing in my heart. I have been crucified with Jesus, and I no longer live, yet He lives in me. A. B. Simpson points my eyes to this simple reality. The Christian life is not me trying to live up to promises. It is Jesus living His life in me, and God’s promises carrying me.
Simpson thanks God for the kind of faith that is not self-produced. He reminds us that this faith springs from Jesus within and looks out at every circumstance with quiet confidence. I am not asked to manufacture belief. I am invited to rest in the Faithful One who loved me and gave Himself for me.
This turns prayers into songs. When trouble presses in, Jesus does not hand me a heavier burden. He meets me as my life. He steadies the mind. He quiets the heart. He lifts the soul to praise. Like Paul and Silas in a prison night, grace turns the darkest hour into a sanctuary of worship.
So today I take Simpson’s hand, and yours, as a fellow traveler. We will not clutch at God’s promises with white knuckles. We will lean our full weight on the Promiser. The life we now live in the body, we live by faith in the Son of God. His faithfulness is the melody under every step we take.
Journal Entry – Voice of the Holy Spirit Through Scripture
I dwell in you. Your old life in Adam was crucified with Jesus, and the body of sin was brought to nothing, so you are no longer ruled by it. Set your heart and mind where Jesus is, and let His life be the source of yours. Abide in Me, and you will bear much fruit. Apart from Me you can do nothing, yet in Me you have everything you need for life and godliness.
I am the Spirit who raised Jesus from the dead, and I live in you. I give life to your mortal body. I work in you to will and to act according to My good pleasure. Walk by Me, and you will not carry out the desires of the flesh. As you behold the glory of the Lord, I transform you from one degree of glory to another.
You are a new creation. Christ in you is the hope of glory. I strengthen you in your inner being so that Jesus may dwell in your heart through faith. I have put a new heart within you, and I cause you to walk in My ways. I am faithful, and I will surely do it. Rest, receive, and respond as I lead. Your life is hidden with Jesus in God, and when He who is your life appears, you also will appear with Him in glory.
Real-Life Analogy
Think about turning a key to start your car on a cold morning. You do not push the engine to life with your own strength. You simply turn the key, and a power beyond your arm brings the engine to life. Living by faith in Jesus is like that. You are not cranking your soul with effort. You are trusting the Indwelling One to bring His life to every moment.
Try this today when a tense conversation or a heavy task shows up. Pause your self-management, then quietly yield. Say, Lord, I trust You to express Your patience and clarity through me right now, and I give You my words and my tone. Then step forward believing that Jesus is your life in that very situation.
Prayer of Confidence
Father, thank You that I have been united with Jesus in His death and raised with Him in newness of life. Thank You that Jesus lives in me, and that Your Spirit supplies faith, peace, and holy desire from within. I gladly count myself dead to sin and alive to You in Jesus. I affirm that Your promises carry me. I receive the day as a gift, and I walk in the rest that comes from Christ in me, the hope of glory. Amen.
