The Lord loves to steady our hearts by pointing us to what is faithful and true. Revelation gives us this anchor, that the words of the risen Lord are faithful and true, and that He Himself is the Faithful and True Witness. We are not left to chase feelings or manage life by hunches. We are invited to lean our weight on the character of Jesus and the reliability of His word.

Bob Hoekstra reminds us that faith does not appear out of thin air. Faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God. The more we take in what God has said, the more our hearts are gently persuaded about who Jesus is and what He has already provided. The Scriptures carry the same character as the One who speaks them, faithful and true, and they do not wither.

This is how our life with God began. The gospel was sown into us like incorruptible seed. We heard, we trusted, and new life sprang up because the word of the Lord endures forever. That same pattern continues as we walk with Him. We receive the word, not as the word of men, but as it truly is, the word of God, and it works effectively in us who believe.

So we return, again and again, to the voice of Jesus in Scripture. Not to chase merit, but to enjoy fellowship. Not to earn favor, but to grow in grace. The word renews our minds, centers our days, and draws our eyes to the Lord who loved us and gave Himself for us. Faith awakens as His words take root. Grace flows as we yield to Him who is faithful and true.

Journal Entry – Voice of the Holy Spirit Through Scripture
I steady you with what is faithful and true. I am the Spirit of truth, and I take what belongs to Jesus and make it known to you. Fix your eyes on Him, the faithful witness. Let His words dwell in you richly. My words are living and active, and as you receive them, I work in you who believe.

I brought you into life through the living and abiding word. I planted the gospel like incorruptible seed, and it produced life that does not fade. As you continue to welcome My word, I shape your desires, I renew your mind, and I anchor your steps in the faithfulness of the Lord.

Faith rises as you listen. Hearing is more than sound, it is the heart attending to the voice of the Shepherd. I remind you of all that Jesus has said. I make Scripture sweet to your understanding, and I align your thoughts with His finished work. You are in Christ, and Christ lives in you. Reckon yourself alive to God. Let the word of the Messiah dwell in you richly, and you will walk in what I have already supplied by grace.

When My word abides in you, you will find that trust comes quietly, like light filling a room at dawn. I do not drive you with fear. I lead you with truth. I do not demand that you perform to be loved. I show you the love that has already been poured out, and I teach you to live from the life of Jesus within you. Receive My word today. I am faithful to complete what I begin.

Real-Life Analogy
Think of tuning a radio in your car. At first you catch only static. A small turn, then the signal locks in, and suddenly the voice is clear. Let the Scriptures be that fine adjustment in your day. When noise and opinions crowd your mind, open to a psalm, a gospel paragraph, a letter from Paul, and let His voice come into focus. As you do, respond simply, Lord, I entrust this moment to You, speak through Your word in me as I step into this next conversation, and live Your life through me. For example, before a tense meeting, read a short passage like Colossians 3, then walk in with a yielded heart, trusting the Spirit of Jesus to speak with gentleness and clarity through you, rather than trying to manage the room by effort.

Prayer of Confidence
Lord, thank You that Your words are faithful and true. Thank You that faith grows as Your word lives in me. Thank You that I have been born again by the incorruptible seed of Your gospel, and that Your word endures forever. Today I receive Your truth with a trusting heart. I rest in Jesus who lives in me. I thank You that Your Spirit effectively works in me as I believe, and that every step is supplied by Your grace.
