Don’t Lose Your Boldness

Confidence at the gate—access granted through Christ.

Today’s reflection from Witness Lee turns our attention from the shaky ground of emotional uncertainty to the solid rock of God’s righteousness. Many believers fluctuate in their sense of being forgiven—sometimes they imagine God is merciful enough to forgive them, other times they suspect He may withhold forgiveness due to their failures. But the truth is far more secure and glorious than either of those feelings: God’s forgiveness is not rooted in mere pity or tolerance—it is grounded in His righteousness.

Because Jesus fully bore our punishment, justice has already been satisfied. Forgiveness is no longer a question of God’s willingness—it is a certainty based on His unchanging righteousness. To refuse forgiveness to those who come by faith in Jesus would be to deny the very work of the cross. God cannot do that. He cannot violate His righteousness. So now, when we come to God through the blood of Jesus, we come not with wishful hope but with bold assurance. We don’t plead for mercy—we enter by right through Christ. This is our confidence. This is our boldness. And it can never be taken from us.

✍🏼 Personalized Journal Entry – Voice of the Holy Spirit Through Scripture

Come boldly. You are not trespassing. You are not sneaking in. You have access through the blood of the Lamb. I do not receive you reluctantly—I receive you righteously. Your forgiveness is not a fragile sentiment—it is a legal reality grounded in My justice.

I gave My Son as a perfect offering, and He did not merely offer to pay; He paid in full. There remains no debt left to clear. The door into My presence is open not because I have looked the other way, but because I looked at the cross and declared the matter finished.

So cast off your hesitation. Do not measure My acceptance by your emotional temperature. When you approach Me in Christ, you are not depending on your performance—you are trusting in My verdict. And I have declared you justified. I have placed My own righteousness upon you.

Let this be your confidence: not that I feel generous today, but that I am always righteous. I am just, and I justify the one who is of faith in Jesus. Come near—not with fear, but with full assurance, for I Myself have prepared the way. It cannot be undone.

🧺 Real-Life Analogy

It’s like standing in the security line at the airport, ticket in hand. You don’t approach the agent wondering if you’ll be allowed through—you show your boarding pass and walk confidently because the fare has already been paid. You’re not there hoping to be accepted. You belong on that flight. That’s the boldness we carry in Christ—we don’t beg at the gate. We enter because it’s already ours.

🙏🏼 Prayer of Confidence

Father, I thank You that my standing before You rests on Your righteousness, not my wavering performance. You gave Jesus for me, and through Him, You declared me forgiven and righteous. I rest in the finished work of the cross today. I come boldly—not because I am bold in myself, but because You have made the way open and secure through Your Son. Thank You that Your justice now defends my forgiveness. I walk forward, confident, because Christ has made me clean.
