Dipping Your Foot in Oil
Walking with feet dipped in oil—resting in the abundance of the Spirit, not rationing His provision.
Today’s eManna devotional draws our attention to a beautifully rich image found in Deuteronomy 33:24—Asher “dipping his foot in oil.” While this may initially seem like poetic imagery, its deeper meaning unveils the abundance of the Spirit-filled life. Oil, in Scripture, frequently symbolizes the Holy Spirit, and in this passage, we are not just told that Asher possesses oil, but that he walks in it. This is no meager anointing. His foot is dipped in it, submerged in a tangible and constant abundance.
This is a picture of what it means to live in the fullness of the Spirit—not just receiving enough to survive but overflowing with grace, peace, and sufficiency. Just as Paul describes in Philippians 4:11–13, to walk in the Spirit is to walk in contentment and strength, regardless of outward circumstances. Whether blessed or battered, Paul found the bountiful supply of Christ sufficient for all things.
The devotional challenges us with this question: do we truly believe that we walk in that kind of supply? Or do we act as if our sufficiency must be earned or topped off daily through striving? The Asher life is not one of scraping together drops of oil but of dipping our very feet in it—confident, secure, and saturated with the provision of Christ.
Journal Entry in the Voice of the Holy Spirit
My child, you were not made to walk in scarcity. You were not called to tiptoe through dryness, always rationing peace, always questioning whether you have enough. I have anointed you with abundance. I have lavished upon you the fullness of My Spirit, and in this divine abundance you walk—yes, you walk with your foot dipped in oil.
This oil is not symbolic only—it is your present reality. You are sealed with the Spirit, indwelt by Me, and filled not in trickles but in torrents. The grace that sustains you today is not measured by circumstance but by My faithfulness. You walk not toward sufficiency—you walk in it.
As your days unfold, so shall your sufficiency be—not less, not more, but exact. When you rise to meet the demands of the morning, My Spirit is already there, matching the day with power. When you encounter difficulty, you need not plead for provision; you need only draw from what is already yours.
Remember Paul, who found contentment in every circumstance. He did not pull strength from the air, nor did he conjure joy through effort. He discovered what you too now know: Christ in you is enough. The Lord is your Shepherd—you lack nothing. You do not ration Me. You rest in Me. You do not chase peace. You walk in peace. And when others press in, when trials rise like morning mist, your foot is already dipped in oil.
This is the secret place in which you now live. This is not for the few, but for all who walk by the Spirit. Let this be your mindset: not striving to be filled, but walking already full.

Prayer of Confidence
Father, I thank You that I walk today with my feet dipped in oil. Not a drop, not a drizzle, but the full and generous outpouring of Your Spirit surrounds me. I have no shortage. I have no lack. I walk in the sufficiency of Christ.
Even when my circumstances stretch me, You are the One who matches every day with grace. As my days are, so is my supply. So is my rest. So is my peace. So is my strength. I don’t need to stir it up or seek it out—it’s mine already, in Christ. And today, I simply receive what You’ve already made mine.
I walk forward in confidence, not because of me, but because You are in me. And this moment is complete, for You are here.
