Crowned, Yet Waiting

We do not see all things aligned yet, but we do see Jesus, already crowned

So much of life looks unfinished from where we stand. We face bills, doctor visits, strained relationships, and headlines that rattle the heart. From the ground level it can seem like chaos has the last word. Hebrews 2 says something different. All things have been placed under the feet of the Son, yet at present we do not see everything subject to Him. This is the tension we live in every day. We do not see it all, but we do see Jesus, crowned with glory and honor.

A. B. Simpson’s reflection steadies that tension with hope. He reminds us that Jesus stands as our Head and Representative, our true life. What is already true in Him is the truest thing about us in Him. When the promises feel distant on the earth, we lift our eyes and see them fulfilled in the Man at God’s right hand. Every promise finds its Yes in Him, and we share that Yes because we are joined to Him.

From a corporate salvation lens, this is a family reality. The Father has exalted the Son as the head of the new humanity, and in Him we, the people of God, are seated with Him. His victory is not a private trophy. It is the inheritance of His body, the church. We do not strive to earn our place. We receive what the Father has already entrusted to the Son and, in Him, to us.

So we live with a double vision. On the street, at work, in the kitchen, we see the unfinished picture. In our hearts we behold Jesus, already crowned. That second sight does not pull us out of real life. It anchors us in it. Today we move through ordinary tasks with a settled confidence. Our Lord is not waiting to be enthroned. He is enthroned. And as we rest in Him, His life expresses itself through us with quiet authority, simple love, and a peace that holds steady when the wind picks up. Thank you, Brother Simpson, for pointing our gaze higher and reminding us to see Jesus.

Journal Entry – Voice of the Holy Spirit Through Scripture

I set the Son over all things for the sake of His body. I placed everything under His feet. I crowned Him with glory and honor after He tasted death for everyone. You do not yet see all things aligned on the earth, but I invite you to look where the alignment is complete. Fix your eyes on Jesus. In Him, every promise finds its fulfillment. In Him, you are raised and seated. In Him, your life is hidden with God.

When the ground trembles, lift your gaze. Do not measure your hope by what is unfinished in your sight. Set your mind on things above where the King reigns. I bear witness with your spirit that you belong to My family. You are an heir with the Son. His victory defines your horizon. His peace is your atmosphere. His authority is gentle in you, yet it is real.

I do not call you to force outcomes. I call you to abide. As you yield, I make the unseen triumph of the risen Lord practical in your steps. I steady your words. I soften your tone. I guide your choices. I turn your attention again and again to the One who sits at My right hand until your heart rests and your hands move with His calm purpose. Lift your eyes. See Jesus.

Real-Life Analogy

Think of tapping your phone screen to bring a blurry photo into sharp focus. The scene has not changed. Your focus has. Details that felt lost suddenly lock in, and the subject stands clear. In a similar way, the Holy Spirit turns our inner focus toward the risen Lord. The bills remain, the appointment still awaits, the conversation still needs grace, but the center snaps into view. Jesus is crowned, and you are in Him.

Try this today in a concrete moment. Suppose a tense email lands in your inbox. Before you reply, place your attention on the Lord who reigns. Quietly say, Lord, I entrust this moment to You. Live Your wisdom and gentleness through me right now. Then write from that place. Not from pressure, not from the need to win, but from the life of Jesus within you.

Prayer of Confidence

Father, I thank You that Jesus is already crowned with glory and honor. You have placed all things under His feet, and in Him You have seated me with Christ. I affirm that Your promises are Yes in Him. I receive the peace, wisdom, and love that are mine in Jesus. Today I move forward resting in His finished work. Lord, I rely on You to express Your life through me in every conversation, decision, and interruption. My life is hidden with Christ in You, and I rejoice in this settled truth.
