Confession!
When the drawer is emptied, space is made for something new.

As described in E. Stanley’s devotional from today, what happened in the Central Congo was not merely an emotional outburst or a mass movement. It was a Spirit-ignited unveiling—a public, personal, and communal confession of the transforming power of Christ. One by one, men and women stood and told the truth—not just about their sin, but about their Savior. They didn’t glamorize their past; they glorified their present union with Christ.
These testimonies weren’t sanitized. They were raw, real, and unashamed. Adultery, drunkenness, idolatry, witchcraft, and greed—all surrendered. But more than the renouncing of sin, there was the embracing of Christ. “I’m happy now,” one man said. “I only know God in my heart,” said another. “We were in darkness,” a woman confessed, “but now I believe in Jesus.”
The idol pit was exposed. The charms were discarded. The witch doctor sat down in silence. And before the pulpit, a pile of discarded symbols bore witness to the cleansing. Not just of habits—but of hearts. These weren’t testimonies of self-reformation, but of inward transformation. They were “enriched in Him,” because He had made His dwelling in them.
Personalized Journal Entry – Voice of the Holy Spirit
My child, I dwell not in temples made by hands, nor in rituals, relics, or shadows. I dwell in you. You are My temple. And where I dwell, idols must fall. Not by pressure, not by guilt—but because light has come.
I did not come to fix you. I came to crucify the old and raise you new. That which you once clung to, you now gladly discard, because I have shown you the surpassing worth of knowing Me. You once bowed to fear, superstition, and shame. Now, you walk in freedom, clothed in righteousness not your own. You are Mine.
The old life no longer defines you. It has been buried. The flesh has no claim. The enemy has no authority. And you—beloved—have no need to perform. Only to abide. As you rest in Me, I express My life through you. And in that expression, there is joy, clarity, and peace. The truest confession is not just what you’ve left behind, but who now lives within you. Christ in you—the hope of glory.

Real-Life Analogy
It’s like opening a long-forgotten drawer in your home—the one that’s been jammed shut for years. You finally pull it open, and it’s full of broken trinkets, expired coupons, old batteries, and pens that no longer write. Once, those things had value. Now, they only take up space. So you empty it. You clear it out—not out of guilt, but because you’re ready for something new. And when you see that clean, empty space, it feels like a breath of fresh air.
Prayer of Confidence
Father, thank You that I don’t need to hide. There is no shame in Your presence—only light, truth, and love. Thank You that everything I once trusted for identity or comfort has been eclipsed by Christ in me. I no longer live under condemnation or superstition, for You have brought me into light and liberty. I rest in the truth that I am enriched in Christ, complete in Him, and indwelt by Your Spirit. Thank You that I no longer need to perform, because Jesus is my life.
