Today’s devotional from Witness Lee calls us into the same question that echoed across time on the lips of Jesus: “But who do you say that I am?” The crowd had their opinions. Some admired Jesus as a prophet. Others were unsure, assigning to Him both honor and suspicion. Yet in the swirl of voices and viewpoints, Simon Peter’s answer stood out with clarity: “You are the Christ, the Son of the living God.”

This was not mere theological affirmation—it was a Spirit-revealed confession. Peter was acknowledging both the identity and the mission of Jesus. He is the Son—revealing who He is in eternal relationship with the Father. And He is the Christ—God’s anointed One, carrying out the divine plan for redemption. These aren’t just titles to memorize but truths to internalize.

To know Jesus only as a teacher or a prophet falls short. He is not merely a representative of God; He is God the Son, sent into the world to fulfill God’s purpose and to bring us into union with Himself. His being Christ is not just about what He did in history, but what He continues to do in us and through us today.

Our confession of Christ anchors us—not just in salvation, but in our daily walk. As we rest in who He is and yield to what He does, we experience the indwelling life of Christ transforming us from the inside out.

📝 Personalized Journal Entry — Voice of the Holy Spirit Through Scripture:

My child, I have not hidden Myself from you. I have revealed Myself through the Son—full of grace and truth, the exact imprint of My being. He is not merely one who came from Me; He is one with Me, and now He dwells in you.

The world has many opinions about Him. Some admire, others dismiss, but I have whispered to your heart the confession that is not born of flesh and blood but revealed by Me: He is the Christ, the Son of the Living God. This is your foundation, unshakable and eternal.

When you yield your thoughts to Him, you’re trusting not just a teacher, but the Anointed One who fulfills My plan. When you rest in His life within you, you’re abiding not merely in strength, but in the Son who shares My nature. You are not walking alone. You are walking with the Christ, who is in you—the hope of glory.

Let your every moment be shaped by this confession. In the stillness, in the activity, in the seen and unseen, remember who He is and what He does. I am forming Christ in you, day by day, moment by moment. Rest in that. Let this be your joy and your confidence.

🔍 Real-Life Analogy:

Confessing Christ is like unlocking your phone with facial recognition. It doesn’t respond to someone else’s face—it recognizes you. In the same way, when you confess Jesus as the Christ, the Son of the living God, you’re not repeating someone else’s answer. It’s your face in the light of His glory. The Holy Spirit has written this truth into your heart, and now everything opens from there.

Today, as you go about your work, your errands, your interactions—let the confession of Christ be the undercurrent. When you're tempted to rely on yourself, pause. Quietly affirm who He is and what He has done. In that moment, say, “Lord, I yield to You. Be in me what I cannot be. Live through me what You have already accomplished.” That’s the abiding life, and it flows naturally from knowing Him as both the Son and the Christ.

🙏 Prayer of Confidence:

Jesus, I rejoice in who You are—Son of the living God, the One in whom the fullness of deity dwells. You are the Christ, the One anointed to fulfill all the Father’s purpose, and I am in You. I rest in Your life, already given, already indwelling. I do not need to strive for acceptance or for understanding. I have You—and in You, I have everything. Thank You that I walk today not to earn anything, but to express the truth that You are Lord. And You are enough.
