All The Fullness At Home In Jesus

From His fullness, grace keeps flowing

Colossians says that all the fullness of God was pleased to dwell in Jesus. E. Stanley Jones helps us slow down here. The Father was not merely willing. He was pleased. In the Son, God found a home, not a reluctant stopover. That tells us what Jesus is like, and it tells us what God is like. No add ons, no improvements needed, perfect love in a perfect Man.

Jones also shows how this fullness heals our divided lives. We tend to split things apart, spiritual and physical, strength and tenderness, truth and mercy. In Jesus, these are not at odds. They are held together in a living blend. He reconciles all things to Himself, things in heaven and things on earth. He is the meeting place where God and humanity are not estranged.

This matters on Tuesday morning. If all the fullness dwells in Jesus, and we are in Him, we are not scraping together portions to make life work. We are drawing from a Person who lacks nothing. That means we do not have to manufacture balance by sheer effort. We receive His life and let Him express what the moment needs, courage without harshness, gentleness without compromise, humility without hiding.

Thank you, E. Stanley Jones, for pointing us again to the Center. The Father delights in the Son. In the Son, the Father delights to make His home with us. We live from that fullness, not toward it.

Journal Entry – Voice of the Holy Spirit Through Scripture

I delighted to make all My fullness dwell in My Son. He is the image of the invisible God. In Him all things were created. He upholds all things by the word of His power. Whoever has seen Him has seen Me. In Him the whole fullness of Deity dwells bodily, and you have fullness in Him.

I reconciled all things to Myself through the blood of His cross. He Himself is your peace. He made you one with Me and with one another. I placed Him as head over all things for the church, which is His body, the fullness of Him who fills all in all. I have given you My glory in Him so that you may be one, even as We are one.

Therefore, live from Him. Set your mind on things above where Christ is. Let the word of the Messiah dwell in you richly. Whatever you do, in word or deed, do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks. Walk by the Spirit. Put on compassionate hearts, kindness, humility, meekness, and patience. Above all, put on love, which binds everything together in perfect harmony. I am able to do far more abundantly than all you ask or think, according to the power at work within you in Christ Jesus.

Real-Life Analogy

Think of a kitchen faucet connected to a city main. When the valve is open, the flow does not depend on the sink straining. The supply is steady because the source is full. Turn the handle, and everything you need for washing and cooking is right there.

Life in Jesus is like that. He is the Source, full and near. When a hard conversation calls for both truth and tenderness, you might say, Lord, I rely on Your fullness within me now. Be the clarity of my words and the kindness in my tone. Then speak plainly, listen carefully, and let the Holy Spirit express the life of Jesus through you.

Prayer of Confidence

Father, thank You that all Your fullness dwells in Jesus and that I share His life. In Him I am complete. In Him I am reconciled. In Him I have peace with You and with Your people. I affirm that the fullness of Your grace is not distant. It is present in Your Son and at work in me by Your Spirit.

Today I receive what You have already provided. I welcome the word of the Messiah to dwell richly in me. I put on love that binds everything together in perfect harmony. I move through my tasks as worship, trusting the fullness of Jesus to supply what each moment needs. All glory to You for the life of Your Son in me. Amen.
