Matthew 6:9 to 13 frames life with a Father who is near, a kingdom that is present, and a will that is good. Today’s HVI reading paints “abandonment” as a glad release of self-management into the Lord’s hands. It is not indifference. It is a steady confidence that God’s will is wise and kind, so I can entrust this moment to Him. The heart grows free as our concerns go into His care. Desire begins to line up with what He desires. Peace rises where grasping used to live.

This lands in everyday places. The invitation is not to strain, but to rely. I do not have to choreograph outcomes or carry what belongs to God. The Holy Spirit leads a new way of living, hour by hour, moment by moment. Jesus is not asking for a dramatic spectacle, but for a willing yes that keeps saying yes.

Abandonment sounds costly until we remember who receives the reins. The Living One loves us. He is faithful. When His interests shape the day, the burden lightens. The inner posture becomes, Father, Your name be honored, Your kingdom come, Your will be done, here and now.

Journal Entry, Voice of the Holy Spirit Through Scripture
I invite you to rest your will in Mine. Pray to your Father who sees in secret. Set your mind on things above where Christ is. Cast your cares on Me, because I care for you. Present yourself to God as one alive from the dead. Put no confidence in the flesh. Count all self-merit as loss, that you may be found in Jesus.

I have circumcised your heart by the Spirit. In Jesus you are a new creation. Your old man was crucified with Him. Consider yourself dead to sin and alive to God in Christ Jesus. Abide in Me, and you will bear much fruit. Walk by the Spirit, and you will not carry out the desire of the flesh. I work in you to will and to act according to My good pleasure.

Let My peace guard your heart and mind. In all your ways acknowledge Me, and I will make your paths straight. The God of peace equips you with everything good to do His will. I am faithful. I called you. I will do it.

Real-Life Analogy
Think of dropping off a letter into the mailbox. Until it is dropped in, you keep it in your grip. Once it falls into the box, the carrier takes responsibility for the route, the sorting, and the delivery. Abandonment to God is like that. By the Holy Spirit, you hand it over and stop gripping it. You still do your part, but you trust the One who carries it.

Try this. Before sending a difficult message or walking into a meeting, pause and say, Lord, I entrust this to You, carry Your will through me in this moment. Then take the next simple step with a calm heart, speaking plainly, listening well, and expecting His grace to show in patience and truth.

Prayer of Confidence
Father, thank You that Your name is holy, Your kingdom is near, and Your will is good. Thank You that in Jesus I am Yours, and Your Spirit lives in me. I release the outcomes of this day into Your care. I receive daily provision, steady peace, and clear guidance that You have already supplied in Your Son. I present myself to You as one alive from the dead. Lord, I trust You to work Your good pleasure through my words and steps today.
