Alive Forevermore

Out of the shadows, into the morning light—resurrection life begins now.

In today's reflection, A.B. Simpson invites us to behold the risen Christ not through the lens of sorrow, but through the brilliance of resurrection. When Jesus says, “I am He that lives and was dead,” He doesn’t simply declare a fact—He unveils a truth that transforms how we understand the Cross itself. Life, not death, is the beginning of His declaration. He lives, even before He was dead, and now He lives forevermore.

There are two ways to view Calvary: one through the shadow of suffering, and the other through the light of eternal life. One perspective sees pain; the other sees triumph. The marks remain, but they are now symbols of glory, not defeat. Simpson encourages us to so fully reckon ourselves crucified with Christ that death no longer casts its shadow across our lives. Instead, the morning light of resurrection becomes our constant dawn.

The resurrected life is not something distant—it is our now. In Christ, we live a life born of death, full of glory, overflowing with the freshness of eternity. The sorrows of the past become like dew that vanishes in the morning sun, replaced by the joy of resurrection life that never ends.

Personalized Journal Entry – Voice of the Holy Spirit

You are alive in Me—not in theory, not in someday, but now. The life that overcame the grave dwells in you. I do not call you to linger in the memory of suffering, but to walk in the radiance of resurrection. Your old self was crucified with Me, and that crucifixion is complete. It is finished. But what lives now is not what died—it is a new life, born of Me, sustained by Me, and forever hidden with Me in God.

When you look at the Cross, do not see only death. See the empty tomb nearby. See the nail prints not as wounds but as glory-filled reminders that death is no longer your master. You have passed through it—fully, finally—and what now fills your being is My eternal life.

Let the sorrow be eclipsed by joy. Let the night give way to morning. The grief that once ruled your heart has no throne anymore. You belong to the Living One. You are My resurrection life on display in a world still weeping at tombs. Stand in the sun of My presence. Shine with the brilliance of One who lives forevermore.

Real-Life Analogy

It’s like walking out of a pitch-black tunnel into the morning light, blinking in surprise as your eyes adjust to brightness. At first, you remember the darkness, but soon the warmth and clarity of daylight overtake you. The shadows seem distant now—just a memory. And you don’t turn around. You keep walking into the light that has always been waiting for you.

Prayer of Confidence

Jesus, I thank You that I do not walk in the shadow of death, but in the radiance of resurrection. You have brought me out of darkness into the forever life that cannot fade. I affirm that I am alive with You—right now, in this moment—because You live in me. I rest in the victory You have already secured, and I walk forward as one who carries the light of eternity within. Thank You for the glory of the risen life that never ends.
