A Royal Priesthood

No longer searching for clarity in my reflection—my identity is found in Christ.

Today’s reflection from Oswald Chambers calls us to step away from a self-focused spirituality and embrace our priestly calling in Christ. We are not saved to spend our lives measuring how saved we are. We’re not made holy so we can obsess over whether we’ve done enough to be called holy. Our salvation, our righteousness, our identity—all are already secured in Christ.

And in that security, we are invited into something higher: intercessory prayer. Not the kind that pleads based on our performance, but the kind that flows from our union with the Great High Priest. Chambers urges us to stop examining ourselves as if we were our own saviors. He reminds us that we’re a royal priesthood because of the completed atonement of Jesus, not because of anything we do. Our role now is to live out that priesthood in prayer—not morbid introspection.

The miracle of redemption is not meant to keep us circling our own struggles—it’s meant to set us free to pray for others in the bold confidence that we are already accepted, already complete, already His.

You are Mine—not because you worked your way into favor, but because I placed you in Christ. You are not waiting for a verdict; the verdict was rendered at the cross. The blood that once flowed now declares: righteous, beloved, redeemed.

So let the shadows of self-focus fall away. You do not need to plead from your wounds—I invite you to pray from My victory. I have made you a royal priest, clothed in My holiness, seated with Me in the heavenly realms. No longer approach Me wondering if you’ve done enough. You haven’t—but I have. And in Me, you live.

Come, then, as one already accepted. Come to intercede—not because you're worthy, but because you are Mine. Let your prayers no longer rise from fear or striving but from rest. I will bear the burdens you lift. I will move through your intercession. You are My vessel, not the source.

Set your heart not on examining your depravity but on embracing your identity. If you fix your eyes on what you lack, you’ll miss what I’ve already given. But if you fix your eyes on Me, you’ll remember: you are chosen, royal, holy, possessed—and purposed.

🧺 Real-Life Analogy

It’s like staring at your own reflection in a fogged-up mirror, trying to decide if you look “good enough” to be seen. But while you're inspecting yourself, a loved one is waiting just outside the door, needing you. The mirror will never show you what you're looking for—but turning the doorknob and stepping out? That’s where life begins.

🙏🏼 Prayer of Confidence

Father, I rejoice that I am no longer lost in the haze of self-focus. Thank You for placing me in Christ, where I am already clean, already loved, already called. I step boldly into my priesthood today—not because I’ve earned the role, but because Jesus has fulfilled it in me. I trust You to move through my prayers, to carry the burdens of others through my intercession, and to remind me that Your finished work is more than enough. I rest in the truth that I am Yours.
