More Than Enough in His Spirit
Like oil filling empty jars, the Spirit of God fills every vessel we bring to Him, more than enough for every need.

A.B. Simpson draws us to the simple yet powerful story of the widow with only a jar of oil in her house. To her, it seemed like nothing. To Elisha, it was everything, for it was the key to God’s provision. That jar became the source of her deliverance, multiplying as long as there were vessels ready to receive it.
Simpson explains that this jar represents the Holy Spirit. Just as the oil flowed without ceasing, the Spirit is sufficient to meet every need in our lives. Often, we do not realize what we already possess. We may feel as though we lack resources or strength, but God has placed within us His Spirit, who is more than enough. The supply is not exhausted; it is abundant, limited only by our willingness to receive.
The widow’s story reminds us that trials and needs are not signs of abandonment but opportunities. God enlarges our capacity by creating new “vessels” through the pressures of life, making space for His Spirit to fill us afresh. Each difficulty becomes an invitation to discover more of His sufficiency. We can approach each new challenge not with dread, but with expectation, knowing that the oil will flow again.
Simpson calls us to trust that the Spirit’s fullness is not a one-time event but an ongoing reality. The oil did not stop flowing until there were no more vessels. In the same way, God will continue to pour out His grace, presence, and power as long as we make room for Him.
Journal Entry – Voice of the Holy Spirit Through Scripture
My beloved, do not underestimate what I have given you. What may seem small in your eyes is in fact My endless provision within you. The Spirit dwells in you as a living well, and His supply does not run dry. You may see only a jar, but I see fullness that cannot be exhausted.
When new challenges arise, do not shrink back in fear. These are not signs of your weakness alone, but opportunities for My strength to be displayed. Every trial becomes a vessel, every need an empty jar waiting to be filled. As you yield and trust, I pour Myself into the places that appear empty, and what once seemed barren becomes a testimony of abundance.
You do not walk in scarcity, for you are complete in Jesus. You do not labor alone, for My Spirit empowers you. You do not need to strive, for I delight to supply. Continue to open the vessels of your life before Me, and I will fill them again and again.

Real-Life Analogy
Imagine standing at the kitchen sink with a pitcher in hand. You place it under the faucet, and as long as you keep it there and the faucet is open, the pitcher fills. The water does not stop because the supply has run out, but only when you remove the pitcher or run out of space. The faucet, like the Spirit, has no shortage. It is the vessel that limits the flow.
In the same way, I can face today’s tasks and trials with an open heart, saying, “Lord, I trust You to live Your life through me in this very moment.” Instead of dreading what feels empty or overwhelming, I can see it as an opportunity for Him to pour His Spirit afresh into me.
Prayer of Confidence
Lord, I thank You that the supply of Your Spirit is more than enough. What I once thought was too little is in truth the fullness of Your presence within me. I rejoice that every trial becomes a vessel for more of Your grace, every challenge an opportunity to know Your sufficiency. I rest in the assurance that Your Spirit never runs dry, and I live today confident that You will fill me again and again.
