đź“– Faith Is the Doorway to Union

Like standing on a moving walkway, faith carries us forward not by effort but by trust in the One who moves through us.

Today’s meditation from Witness Lee turns our gaze to Abraham—the man Scripture calls the father of all who believe. His story isn’t told to spotlight heroic deeds or religious performance, but rather to reveal the simple reality that God calls, and we respond in faith. Abraham did not work his way into righteousness. In fact, any attempt to be justified by self-effort would have made room for pride. But Abraham believed God, and that belief—not his achievements—was counted as righteousness.

This is the dividing line between the fallen race and the called ones. Fallen humanity leans heavily on striving, on proving, on earning. But those who are called—those who hear the invitation of grace—stop trusting in their own strength and begin to trust in the finished work of God. Just as Abraham was called out of the land of Ur, we have been called out of Adam into Christ. We no longer live by our ability to meet standards. We live by trusting in the One who met them for us.

The promise of the Spirit is given not to the disciplined or to the deserving, but to the believing. And this promise binds us to Christ—not merely as followers or students, but as those who are in union with Him. To believe in the Lord is not simply to agree with doctrine; it is to abandon our self-sufficiency and rest in Christ as our life.

Every step of faith is a step away from the illusion of self and a step into the reality of union. Abraham’s righteousness came not through trying, but through trusting. And the same is true of all who belong to Christ. We are Abraham’s seed because we share the same kind of faith—the faith that says, I no longer live, but Christ lives in me.

📓 Journal Entry – Voice of the Holy Spirit Through Scripture

I called you out—not because of your strength, but because of My grace. I did not choose you so you could prove yourself; I chose you so you could rest in what I have already accomplished. Abraham believed Me, and that was enough. I am the One who does the work. You are the one who trusts in My work.

You were never meant to live by effort. You were created to live by faith. This faith is not vague belief, but a confident yielding to Me. It is through faith that you were joined to Christ, and it is through faith that Christ now lives through you. You are not trying to become righteous—you have already been made righteous by your union with Him.

To walk by faith is to set aside every impulse to prove yourself. It is to look away from your track record and gaze upon My sufficiency. As Abraham walked out of Ur not knowing the destination but trusting the Caller, so you walk through each day not with a map, but with My Spirit. I am not looking for great deeds—I am drawing your heart to trust.

You are Abraham’s seed because you are Mine. And in Me, every promise is yes and amen. Live today not from self-hope, but from the certainty of your association with Me. This is your inheritance—Christ as your very life.

🔍 Real-Life Analogy

It’s like standing on a moving walkway in an airport. You don’t move forward by effort; the floor beneath you carries you along. As long as you’re standing on it, you’re moving—without striving. But step off, and suddenly you're walking on your own again, tired and unassisted.

Likewise, living by faith means remaining on the platform of Christ’s indwelling life. Today, in conversations that tempt you to impress, in tasks where you feel pressure to perform, pause and trust God to respond through you. Whether it's patiently listening during a tense meeting or forgiving a harsh word before bitterness takes root, yield and trust Him to be your life in that moment. You are not asked to manufacture righteousness—only to walk in the One who is your righteousness.

🙏 Prayer of Confidence

Father, I thank You that You have already united me with Christ. I don’t have to work to prove my worth. I don’t have to strive to earn Your smile. You have declared me righteous because of my faith in Jesus, and that faith was a gift from You.

I rest today in Your provision. I trust in Christ as my life, not just for salvation, but for every conversation, every decision, every breath. Thank You that the door of grace stands open, and that I am already inside—carried not by effort, but by faith. I live today from that reality.
